Hi friends,
when I try to log in Yahoo mail, it issues the following message -
login.yahoo.com could not be found. Please check the name and try again.
I have checked Yahoo mail with other login names, the response is always the same. I can access my mails through IE. Further, K-Meleon is working perfectly with other e-mail services, like Lycos, Rediff, etc.
I put this message in 'General' Forum, and Andrews asked me whether I changed
Edit > Preferences > Privacy
setting. To which my response is negative.
Any idea, what could have gone wrong.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software, but the result is the same.

Thanks Nicole,
The problem is solved. I set the SSL settings the same as for HTTP and it works. However, it is giving some warning about 'encrypted page', which has the option to disable issuing warnings. Do you think that it is safe to disable this option?
Regards
I cannot log-in to Yahoo Mail-Beta, or MY Yahoo because the log-in page just keeps flashing on and off continuosly preventing me from doing anything that needs an I.D. and password.

Never seen that. Not at beta mail or answers - which are the two services I use.
What You need is that JavaScript is activated.
Plus You have to spoof another browser string such as that of Netscape 8.1.
So You will get in with default settings except that You have to go to Preferences
Privacy and change the browser string.
BTW there was never a problem.
It is wrong settings or a brocken installs of the users asking.
Activate cookies and JavaScript.
And Spoof Firefox if You want to use new Beta mail.
- I will send You a mail from old yahoo mail. I am tired of spoofing other browsers
= You will get a mail with an attached screenshot showing a k-meleon writting yahoo mail (by a yahoo mail account user = me).
p. s. try to use a new k-meleon profile that is set to use yahoo mail and not brocken normally.

I have the hardest time trying to go to my yahoo mail. for some reason it just stops and I have to force stop to start the process all over again, and the same thing happens. I use firefox to my linux for e-mail. How can I stop this screen freeze, and get to my e-mail?
If You have problems with yahoo beta mail use/spoof the string from a recent Firefox or SeaMonkey such as: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.8.1.7) Gecko/20070914 Firefox/2.0.0.7
Had the same problem here...thought someone had spyware installed and changed security level. When I readjusted the privacy back to "medium high" as opposed to "high" everything went back to normal.
I have not been able to log in to my e-mail despite various attempts. I have entered my correct user name and password but with no luck. Please call me at 310-458-1124 or 310-920-8272.
Thanks.
Palmy
Dear Palmy Datt and other affected Yahoo mail users,
Users and moderators at the K-Meleon Forums can do absolutely nothing to debug or enhance Yahoo's mail service.
The PPL with recent complains about Yahoo mail service come chiefly with Indian or other IP that can be traced to the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre IP range.
Only Yahoo own service personal can fix Yahoo mail service and servers in this and other regions - the problem is not browser related or K-Meleon specific.
Yahoo always bared browsers with Gecko engines that are not Firefox or SeaMonkey from new Yahoo Beta Mail. For this reason the K-Meleon Forums at Source Forge have three threads that are answering FAQs about how to get Yahoo mail service for K-Meleon.
Recently additional PPL have problems and come here more often and with new types of problems. The number of posters is far too high for coincidence. The complains are about broken Yahoo mail service.
Yahoo's mail program at the server level seems erratic. Complaints contain but are not limited to: no login possible, no mail can be fetched or sent, or no files attached. Several browser versions and brands and not only K-Meleon or other Gecko browsers seem affected.
Thx for reading my post.
