I just tried out k-meleon 0.4. I didn't even succeed in starting it, unfortunately. When started it asked me what profile to use (I chose "default" and selected unmarked the checkbox for not asking me the question again). after that the browser just died.

I can get you a trace of what files are accessed by k-meleon and what registry entries. other than that I can't give you much more information unless you've got some debugging code in the browser (I used the pre-compiled binary). I could try
to compile it with mingw-1.0 if that is at all possible(?). os of choice: nt.

I tested the pre-compiled binary of k-meleon 0.3 and that one worked though. how can I provide you with adequate feedback on the 0.4 crash?

Try deleting the application data/kmeleon directory
