side scrolling. one cannot simply hold down the down or up arrow on the main scroll bar or it will simply move the bar 1 notch and stop.

scrolling with the wheel of the mouse when the cursor is hovered over an image also does not work.

The wheel scrolling problems are gecko bugs. Probably the easiest way to see if a bug is kmeleon specific is to also have a copy of Mozilla on your computer and see if the bag can be produced there. If it can report the bug to Mozilla (follow the guidelines), if it can't then you can assume it's a k-meleon problem.
