Anyone got crashes in js3250.dll?

Hi!
Been using 0.75 for a long while before switching to 0.81. With 0.75
I had no crashes so far. Now, 0.81 crashed for the fifth time today.
But sadly, I can't seem to reproduce the crashes for a detailed bug-
report.
Maybe someone can help out in tracking down (at least) this bug?
Would be nice and we all will get a better browser. :-)
Installed 0.81 in an empty directory. I don't use any old files, but
have customized KM just like I have done before (macros, menus, skin).
PlugIns active:
Bitmapped Menus (never used that one with v0.75, so ...), Favorites,
Macros, Toolbar Control, Rebar Menu, Bookmarks, History, Fullscreen.
System: Windows XP SP1 with all updates. Nothing changed since 0.75.
Opened KM, opened about 20 links in new background windows, closed
one or two, read one site for a while, wanted to switch to another
window on the taskbar and bang - right before opening the window -
down went KM.
AppName: k-meleon.exe
AppVer: 0.8.1.0
ModName: js350.dll
ModVer: 4.0.0.0
Offset: 00002b9c
Has anyone experienced a crash in js3250.dll, too? What did you do
before KM crashed?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

ra? Did you have these 20 windows opened in actual windows or layers/tabs? We were discussing a somewhat similar problem on the dev-list today with a security test that someone had attempted to do. Someone was wondering if it was the test---but with my browser it opened up about 20 layers and then "POW!"---down went the browser. It actually startled me because I'd never seen KM crash like that before.
Kind of makes me wonder if it might not be the same type of problem, you know? Wished I had a solution for you but unfortunately I don't. At the rate development has gone though lately it'll be interesting to see how the "Powers That Be" handle this type of bug, eh? That last update was sure fast, eh?

well
i had many crashes with km 0.8.1, too!
two times around 30sites were open (layer-plugin is deactivated, same for bitmapped-menu, macro, mouse gestures and gestures) and after open another site (in background) km suddenly crashed.
other two times no sites were open.
i'm using dial up. and i'm connecting with connection A!
meanwhile i open KM which wanna connect with standard-connection B. canceled that and KM said me that it can't connect to home-page (thats correct because no connection is avaiable at this moment).
after A was established i choosed a site and KM crashed.
and it crashed after i closed the connection for reading something and reopen it for open some links.
none of that happened with 0.8!
i'm using old menus.cfg and accel.cfg, the rest is new.

Eyes-Only,
if you look closely you'll see that the layers-plugin was (and is) not
loaded, so, yes, these were 'real' windows.
You mean
http://bcheck.scanit.be/bcheck/ ? Just passed that test (full
one) without a problem with the config. detailed above.
Do you remember the error report? Happened the crash in "js350.dll" or
was it another file? And: Are you on XP, too?
Yeah, it was indeed a fast update and the fixes included one of my bugs,
so I finally switched to 0.8x. The new version seems to be faster, too,
but alas, I seldom had crashes before...
Well, now I'm investigating and trying to catch that particular bug...
BTW: "js350.dll" handles Java Script. Maybe, if I turn off JS, KM won't
crash anymore..?
Ooze,
do you remember a few details, like the modname, of the error report?
If not, maybe you can note them next time. :-)
Which windows-version are you using if I may ask?
I didn't use 0.80, so I don't know if these are new or old crashbugs.

And let me add: It's not the number of windows, that are the problem
(at least here). Just had more than 50 (real) windows opened and had
no problem. Must be something else...

I have been using K-Meleon since 0.7. I haven't seen any crashes until 0.81. Now, it crashes a lot. Even with only one window one and reading BBC home page.
I've got a Win XP Home.

I am starting to think this "KM crashing" only happens on XP :-\
I'm on ME and no matter what I do KM 0.8.1 just wont crash, lol. It actually is more stable on my computer than IE or any previous versions of KM were. Does anyone have KM 0.8.1 crash on a computer that ISN'T running XP?

Bugzilla knows js3250.dll as
well. Maybe it's connected to
212501?
And just go a different crash (AppName: k-meleon.exe, AppVer: 0.8.1.0, ModName: k-meleon.exe, ModVer:0.8.1.0, Offset: 00002457) after starting to load a page and then switching to another program. Oh, my... :-(

I had a problem with Javascript about 10 minutes ago, but it was a different module.
K-MELEON caused an invalid page fault in
module JSDOM.DLL at 0187:019bd21e.

I was at randmcnally.com, I had added an item to a shopping cart, a window popped up that said the item was added, but instead of clicking close, I clicked over to copy the url of the page that the item was on, and CRASH. Didn't have any problems though when I used the close button in the javascript window where it said my item had been added. Probably not related, but I remembered reading about js3250 here earlier this morning, and though I should just mention it anyway. I only had like 3 or 4 layers open in one window.

i'm using win2k sp3 on nForce2-board.
can't say something about the modname or so (don't know where i can find it and in drwatson.log isn't something like that).
the security-check
http://bcheck.scanit.be/bcheck/ crashes right after clickin on 'start the test' it (run all avaiable tests).
but for that i have to deactivate popupblocking in preferences!

Hey, Ooze, I posted a message earlier about crashes while in chat.
http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?f=3&i=4836&t=4836 but the error was reporting KMELEON.EXE so it's probably not related. You might want to refer to it anyway in case you notice any similarities.

12tasks are running + kmeleon
and it happen again!

sorry, for the double post
but
the bug can be replaced just with
1. start kmeleon
2. go to ebay.de
3. pressing ctrl+n
4. typing jiggle.de and pressed enter
5. click on the empty part on the taskbar, so no KM is in front
=> crash
that it was! no other programs were running in background (just windows internal services and mouse-software).

Starting at step 4 is enough for me.
Here the crash is in kmeleon.exe, not in js3250.dll.

Interesting. If I remember correctly, I have similar PC specs to Marc. and v0.8.1 doesn't crash on me. I've tried to reproduce by following steps posted in this thread and it remains stable, except for toolbars crash at the scanit security test, but normal browsing remains stable. I use Single Window Mode(all layers which all open the same size). Win98, Cel 433 96 RAM & Cable Modem.

Here's how to recreate a crash.
Find a page that takes a while to load (this one here for me
http://www.nationwide.co.uk/football/ ) - as you need the time to minimise KM.
As soon as you load it, minimise KM very quickly. It will crash when the page finally does load.

OK, appears the KM minimised while loading crash & js 3250.dll are different.
See here for a detailed thread on js3250.dll crashes:
http://sillydog.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3662
The miniminsed loading crash we will have to wait for the devs, as the NetscapeDisplayWnd error is something to do with the code (and from what I have read, maybe a compiling issue).

Nick,
I can repro your minimizing crash with
http://www.nationwide.co.uk/football/. Km crashes in k-meleon.exe, worked here 3 of 3 times. So hopefully that can be fixed...
And another thing: Tried my scenario from the beginning again and this time km crashed in xpc3250.dll...

WinXP pro and KM 0.8.0 doesn't crash at
http://www.nationwide.co.uk/football/ when minimized for me.

Just for the records: I didn't get that particular crash since 0.8.2. <knockonwood>
If you only get this error with FB I doubt it will be of any use for KM users.

If it's js thing it is most probilly related to the incorectly working javascript for js is it's initials. In k-meleon 0.9.13 (wich is the best browser I've seen) it dosen't seem to use k-meleon properly. I do not wish to re-install.

Eu penso, isto não deve acontecer nas versões novas. Sua aplicação parece ser danificada, e eu recomendo um download novo e uma instalação nova. Fazer uma cópia de seus bookmarks primeiramente.

When upgrading 1.0 & 1.02 with nightly seamonkey builds, you should replace the orginal js3250.dll & xp_core.dll files.
Becuase when you replace them with the newer js3250.dll and xp_core.dll, js3250.dll cause an invalid page fault in k-meleon.exe when do the following:
When Open a download link in a New Window causes the invalid page fault in k-meleon.exe.
Or when you open a download link in a Background Window also causes the invalid page fault in k-meleon.exe.
This invalid page fault does not happen in K-Meleon 1.1a2 and K-Meleon 1.1beta (1.1a3) for some reason that I do not know.
The reason for this bug in K-Meleon 1.0 and 1.02 should be looked into and whe should figure out why it does not happen in K-Meleon 1.1a2 and K-Meleon 1.1beta (1.1a3).
The maybe a bug in the k-meleon.exe in K-Meleon 1.0 and K-meleon 1.02 that is not present in k-meleon.exe used in K-Meleon 1.1a2 and K-Meleon 1.1beta (1.1a3).
