Yesterday I learnt I have to copy files into the plugin-folder to make webplayers run in K-Meleon.

I alreday used move media player in firefox and I found the corresponding folder for firefox but I can't see which file belongs to the webplayer.

Does anyone know? And does it work at all?

Dateiname: H:\K-MELEON1.5.1DE-DE\plugins\np-mswmp.dll

I assume that You will find the plugin in %apdata%/Mozila/firefox/Profiles.../extensions.../plugins/

Because that is the only place were K-Meleon does not auto find a usable plugin.


p.s. K-Meleon normally auto finds plugins - if the windows registry is not damaged.

As a last resort You can copy into ./K-Meleon/plugins if OS is damaged

If two different plugins can handle the same mimeType, the one in K-Meleon/plugins directory is preferred.

K-Meleon did find with help of my system.

You will find some plugins at the extensions at the K-Meleon extension page.

Trouble shooting for the plugin You want.

Download media player plugin e.g. here

If You encounter plugins that have xpi installer - extract them they are zips.
Have a look at the directories inside. That is where the filles go inside K-Meleon folder too

Thanks for all those options - but the problem is not that I don't have any webplayer in K-Meleon. I'm using flash and quick time and it works perfectly.

But for some videos I need the move media player, can I install exactly this player for K-Meleon?

You can install this player for K-Meleon exactly as you install it for Firefox.

I could not.
move media player homepage insisted on XPI installer service.
And did not know K-Meleon. Result I could not download.

What I did: installed it in Firefox.

Then went to %apdata%/firefox/... extensions.

Found./moveplayer@movenetworks.com the plugin and the xpt.
Go there or use Windows search.

The xpt goes to ./K-Meleon/components/nsIMNQMP.xpt
(./components/compreg.dat and xpti.dat must be deleted so that they are refreshed)
That is the standard procedure for every plugin that needs an xpt!

The plugin is deep inside the "platform" folder. It goes to ./K-Meleon/plugins/npmnqmp071101000055.dll.

It should work now after K-Meleon is started or about:plugins has been opened.

Das Plugin selbst ist bei mir in:
I:\Einstellungen\guenter\Anwendungsdaten\Mozilla\firefox\Profiles\3q84xngj.default\extensions\moveplayer@movenetworks.com\platform\WINNT_x86-msvc\plugins\npmnqmp071101000055.dll

und du kopierst es es im K-Meleon Verzeichnis nach:
./plugins/npmnqmp071101000055.dll


Und daneben I:\Einstellungen\guenter\Anwendungsdaten\Mozilla\firefox\Profiles\3q84xngj.default\extensions\moveplayer@movenetworks.com\components\

Und packst es in K-Meleon ./components. 
./components/nsIMNQMP.xpt

Danach ./components/compreg.dat und xpti.dat löschen, damit mit die neu geschrieben werden. Das macht man immer so, wenn man ein xpt findet.
