Please don't post big images in forum, if image is big post link to image only not full image.

In problems with websites is better post the link to website.
In this case: http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/HostalMiralva-Madrid-3586

What's your K-Meleon version?

I tried it and this website is showed fine in Firefox 2.0.0.20 and K-Meleon 1.5.0 and 1.5.2.

Is possible this site not support your hight screen resolution.

this is a known issue with gecko 1.8. it doesn't support wide screen display.
if you test the same page with firefox 2.0 or previous, you'll find it has the same problem. gecko 1.9 has addressed this problem and supports wide screen display.

kmeleon is based on gecko 1.8 so it doesn't support wide screen for now. every now and then you will run in a few sites that will show kinda outlandish on your widescreen monitor. when km updates to gecko 1.9, this problem will be gone.. so hold on till then.

Must be rumors. This page displays correctly for me on both 1680 x 1050 and 1050 x 1680. And it doesn't look any different in Firefox 3.

maybe not that site.. but i read that people with widescreen displays have some pages display incorrectly with ff2( not centred and big spaces etc) but works fine on ff3.. there was a discussion about it somewhere here and on mozilla.. maybe they fixed it with latest gecko 1.8 build

IMHO that is a design error in the pages html and css.

Elements that have no command where to go (float: clear: ...) and are not held to a size or fixed position e.g. because they are inside a table will go next to each other when they are given enough space.

The first design of my home page was like that. And then I got a bigger screen & some workgrinning smiley
Now all should stay in the place that I wanted and look like I wanted
- except if You use an Netscape 4.x, IE 4-8  or another obsolete browser.

Exactly. The least display problems are browser bugs, the most are web design flaws. Still many pages - like the one in question - are optimized for a screen resolution of 1024 x 768. That was somewhat the standard about ten years ago (17" screens). So, it made some sense at that time. But nowadays desktops can have much higher screen resolutions (1920 x 1080 or even more), and mobile devices can have much lower resolutions. Under such conditions these optimized pages are looking all but optimal...

Not yetsmiling smiley 48% have 1024 x 768 and 38% have higher resolution. My guess in 2011 resolution 1024 x 768 will be used by a minority.

Absolut - pages must work independent of screen resolutions!
