Another suggestion as a side-project (or a test platform) to K-Meleon would be to make a plugin for MSIE 3.02 out of the Gecko rendering engine. That, combined with a Java2 plugin would make use of the internet settings, bookmarks, etc of a less intrusive version of IE, but make it render correctly.
There is already an API even for IE3; it's just a matter of making it use the plugin for all web pages.
thats a pretty sweet idea but i think its probably beyond the scope of the kmeleon project..
