hi,

are there any nightly builds as some SF projects do build autoamtically (eg. miranda im), and if so, where could i find them?

That will never happen unless we have more active developers working on this project.

if mozilla/k-meleon would built with Mingw32/lcc32, i'd be one of those "more active developers". but after i'm rreading this "you ought to have M$ Visual Puke C++" everywhere - no chance!

The Devs as far as I know do not code in MS Visual anything, C++ maybe, Assembly possibly not. Hey MonkeeSage care to comment on the Oxymoronic topic here? I'll wait for 0.8 and then install It.

zoom,

have a look at this (out-dated but still true) page:

http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/docs/build.php

(MS) "Visual C++ 6 with service pack 3 or higher"

note that building under anything other than MSVC6 would mean that some plugins may not work correctly. It is possible to build Mozilla under mingw32, so to port KMeleon to mingw32 shouldn't be too hard.

Actually, K-M uses MFC, which is MSVS proprietary. No other IDEs can use it that I know of. It would be possible to port K-M from MFC into the wxWindows toolkit, and then it would compile and run on Linux or Win32 and it would be able to be compiled with any compiler / IDE, but that is the only way I know of.
