Has development stopped on the layers plugin? It's no longer available for download (or at least, i can't find it anywhere), and it's far from perfect. Most glaring bug: crashing on exit when the ("...catch", true); pref is set. This doesn't seem to affect everyone, and in fact didn't affect me until i did a full reinstall of k-meleon just a few days ago, which just makes it all the more irritating. I've tried using the catchOpen pref, but it doesn't seem to do anything at all (honestly, i see no difference whatsoever).

That is curious. I haven't heard Ulf make any mention that he intended to discontinue the plugin. Perhaps he's in the process of switching to some other method of distributing it.

I'd recommend just continuing to check the page it used to be available at (http://kmeleon.freewebsites.com/) and the Kmeleon homepage for any updates or news.

I'll keep an eye out for any comments on the developers' mailing list about this (and try to remember to post updates here...)

I found this strange, too. I re-installed K-Meleon yesterday and was kinda irked this wasn't on the download page, since I like the layers icons.

Anyway, I did a google search for "K-Meleon Layers.dll", and caught Google's cache of the download page, and the links still work, they're just no longer listed.

Hmmm... You have to right-click "Save Link As" to make that work. Maybe they don't want us using it?

That's probably just the way Gecko-based browsers handle downloading of DLL files. Ulf would have mentioned something if there was a problem with the plugin.

Thanks, guys. Got the file, everything works great now. Looks like the crash bug was fixed afterall.

It looks like Ulf's site is coming down. It sounds like he's not interested in maintaining the site anymore, but I think he still plans of developing the plugin. The newest version of the plugin is available in the Service Pack, so download it and check it out.
