The GNU GPL should be the "GNU Public License," not the "GNU Private License." This is on the home page as well as in the readme file, iirc. There's no such thing as the GNU Private License as far as I can tell.
This is a serious "bug" IMHO, licenses should be made clear. Also, a copy of the license should be included in the distribution (in COPYING, for example, like unix tarballs)
My mistake-- It should be the "GNU General Public License," not either of those above. It is otherwise known as the GNU GPL, or just the GPL.
