I hope that many of you will participate in a constructive way to improve kmeleon.
This is thread for constructive suggestions, and of course, most of all a thread for improvements and fixes.
Share your code here.

Known bugs:
Passwords Viewer - When deleted all the passwords, km crashes,
Menu File > Print (Ctrl+P), km crashes,
Menu File > Print Preview (Ctrl+Alt+P), nothing happens,
Youtube clips do not play as expected (only 64 bit win 7, in xp compatibility mode works fine)

1.8/10 reads the Kmeleon.kml for the current session from /K-Meleon1.8.10/locales/de-DE/Kmeleon.kml but forgets its location and reverts to English once K-Meleon has been closed and reopened. K-Meleon always reverts without complaint to a language version that it can find. If the one it has been set to does not exist or cannot be found anymore. This is a known and probably wanted feature or capability of K-Meleon since 1.1.x or 1.5.x. It does not only do that with kml but also does that with chrome translation files.
And 1.8/10 remembers the location of of the /K-Meleon1.8.10/browser/locales/de-DE/readme.html. But it cannot read the rest of the translation/locales files like the Kmeleon.kml from that location.

The gestures bug is still present in both all K-Meleon 74 versions and both K-Meleon 1.8.0 Dev Builds.
When Gestures is enabled the Scroll Bar does not work correctly, The Scroll Bar does not go up and down you try to drag it up and down.
Scrolling works when you click under or over the Scroll Bar.

The error console does not show errors in kmm files. There is no KMM tab.

The 'closing x' on each tab shows even when I elected not to have that. The box in preferences is always re-checked.

I cannot hide the tab buttons when there is only one tab.

If I open a site with a long URL the URL bar expands and pushes toolbars to its right down onto the next line.

James,

all 3 main devs (Dorian, naruman, adodupan) are making their changes un parallel so we need to breed all 3 assemblies in one taking the best from all of them.

I'll try to, but it's really hard work ;-) But the Twin 2014 will consist of all the newest files and maximum functionality.

So it'll take some time to track all the changes...

@ rodocop

I have error console (console2) working for KMM errors. Trying to view source does not crash browser, but as yet not show the source. Still working on that. It will take some time to find every file needed for viewSource and compare with an older version which works.

Remove the console2 from km. You need to use:
chrome://global/content/console.xul

In the file km_root\defaults\pref\kmprefs.js you find pref
'browser.tabs.closeButtons' and set value 1

adodupan,
the native FF console cannot show KMM-errors while console2 shows.

I cannot crash with flash @ fullscreen on my system.

After i read it, i tried to play YouTube clips on a virtual xp machine and everything works fine.
It seems that this problem is not present on all systems.
I use OS Win 7 64 bit and kmeleon16 works fine.
If you have this problem, report it here.

I'll be patient. The build 11 with the fixes works fine.
With youtube I only have poblems when dom.ip.plugins.enabled : then no full screen possible, also a lot of hesitating playing of the videos.
If dom.ip etc. not enabled no problems with Youtube but then I cannot play deezer and myspace - problems that didn't exist in k-meleon 1.7 or 1.6.

Greetings
Mala

The flash plugin crashes when you click fullscreen. Only when K-Meleon 74 and K-Meleon are "Run as an administrator".

"Windpws XP (Service Pack 3)" compatibility mode does not crash the flash plugin

K-Meleon should not crash the flash plugin when in Administator Mode when you click full screen.

K-Meleon 74 and K-Meleon 1.8.0 must have some stability bugs when "Run as an Adminstator"

Only 64 bit Win 7 has a flash problem. In xp compatibility mode works fine.

Quote
sevenforums
Compatibility mode allows a older program written for an earlier versions of Windows to possibly run in Windows 7. 32 bit Windows has emulation for 16 bit programs built in. 64-bit Windows only has emulation for 32 bit programs. If the program ran on 32-bit Windows 7 and not 64 bit, then chances are it's a 16 bit program and you may have to use something like DosBox or XP Mode to be able to run it in 64-bit Windows.

Well, it seems that we develop the old software :)
New kmeleon build is available.

Why did you put kplugins in kmeleon.jar in K-Meleon 1.8.0 Build 12 makes no sense to me. When kplugins already has it own folder.

New build is available (gecko 25 based).
kmeleon.1.8.0.build.16 includes:
-another one fix in Encryption Settings,
-improvement in permissions,
-added history manager
You can find a shortcut in 'View Menu'. In history you use the right click.

Our main developer has an unusual strategy, latest version is downgraded on gecko 24.
Well, users who wanted a better kmeleon 1.7, just be patient :)

Best regards for all

Zero3k, you need to test the latest build.

It no longer crashes. Instead, when trying to open a page in a new tab after inputting a nickname for a folder into the URL Bar, the pages that are in the folder of the typed nickname are opened again. The issue is fixed when using the luamacro plugin and a blank macros.lua in the folder of the profile that's being used by K-Meleon.

adodupan,

thx for the build 17. One question : is it possible to add a fifth user agent e.g. opera or safari to the list of user agents that can override for the view of some sites?
And if yes: how do I do it?

Thx a lot

Mala

You can add whatever you want.
You need to edit file nsKmeleonService.js and you need to edit file useragent.kmm (this is necessary to get a new item appears in the menu), also, you need to add your new preferences in file kmeleon.js.

New kmeleon build is available.

User Agents: While you're at it, let me throw in a mobile browser too, whichever. Have added e.g. a fake OperaMini UA since 1-2 years and am quite happy with it, although using it only very rarely. But then it's the quickest way to get a simplified mobile version of some overloaded website.

Too bad I can't yet run the new versions myself, often wonder now if old macros would still work. Like your new UA macro: From the code it reminds me of that automatic-switcher macro I've recently looked at, with URL collection for Firefox etc. Great for that automatic purpose, but does that mean the "old" fashion way isn't available anymore? For example adding a new UA seems far more complicated with that automatic way.

For users who have already downloaded build 18, build 19 is available now. One more fix in Set as default browser. Now works just as i expected.

siria, when i wrote code for ua, i had no idea that a user adds a new string. It is written for km16.
Now..Well, now it's just an argument that the mark 74 is nonsense.

zero3k, Dorian wrote that will fix bookmark plugin, so be patient..

Best regards to all

Where? Btw, You didn't answer regarding the URL autocomplete function. Is it possible to take the way Firefox does it and implement it into K-Meleon?

Another issue I've been noticing is that the latest build is randomly generating lots of tmp files in the directory where its exe is stored.
