I have been pushing the K-Meleon as far as I can.
With as most about:config settings as I can.

Keep in mind it's a Beta. Youtube will freeze a lot.
But there is a way to get out of it:

The KMFILES kit is at:

How to update the real 1.7+ K-Meleon is at:

I've made new toolcold.bmp for your dbTango skin - now they are really cold (actually they must be named disabled, but for minimal toolbar.cfg editing I've named it so).

Moreover, I create toolhot+.bmp for really 'hot' state (the same reason for naming).
You are welcome to include these files in your builds to make buttons more vivid and informative.

You (and any who is interested in) can download both files archived here:

New K-Meleon 1.6 to 1.7db Types

The K-meleon db types has been worked on.
It has better looking skins now with more background &
throbbers now, in the skin files.

Also there is a new button now to change the user agent.
And more user agents have been added.
The Privacy bar has been deleted now on all but the Blue skin.
Also the Netscape & IE skins is gone, as there was
not much to them anyway.

There is also a new part added to the KMFILES.
The setting is on "Cache6-Xul.kmm"
setpref(BOOL,"nglayout.debug.disable_xul_cache",true);
setpref(BOOL,"nglayout.debug.disable_xul_fastload",true);

I would recommend a full install of the browser
& not just the KMFILES because of the new user agents added.

Be sure to make a copy of your bookmarks etc.

In a way the old 1990 Nissan 240sx with a
Mustang 5.0 engine, is becoming a new Jaguar.
You know the one with the 5.0 Mustang engine in it!

Have fun!

For info on the settings please go to:
http://home.dbdbdugbug.operaunite.com/Projects/content/KMFILES/A_KMFILES_HELP.html

Just because FF killed the 3+ browsers does not mean it is not safe to use.
My version of K-meleon is safe. It has security in mind.
It has settings like:

( ( The "Secure1-DNS.kmm" settings are: ) )
setpref(BOOL,"network.dns.disablePrefetch",true);
setpref(INT, "network.dnsCacheEntries",0);
setpref(INT, "network.dnsCacheExpiration",0);

( ( The "Secure2-Pre.kmm" settings are: ) )
setpref(BOOL,"network.prefetch-next",false);

( ( The "Secure3-Low.kmm" settings are: ) )
setpref(BOOL,"kmeleon.adblocking",true);
setpref(BOOL,"security.enable_java",false);
setpref(BOOL,"security.xpconnect.plugin.unrestricted",false);
setpref(BOOL,"network.http.sendSecureXSiteReferrer",false);
setpref(INT,"network.http.sendRefererHeader",0);
setpref(BOOL,"geo.enabled",false);
setpref(BOOL,"kmeleon.favicons.cached",false);
setpref(BOOL,"kmeleon.favicons.titleBar",false);
setpref(BOOL,"kmeleon.favicons.show",false);
setpref(BOOL,"network.protocol-handler.external-default",false);
setpref(BOOL,"layout.css.visited_links_enabled",false);
setpref(BOOL,"webgl.disabled",true);
setpref(BOOL,"javascript.options.jit.content",false);
setpref(BOOL,"javascript.options.jit.chrome",false);

( ( The "Secure4-Med.kmm" settings are: ) )
setpref(BOOL,"browser.cache.offline.enable",false);
setpref(BOOL,"svg.enabled",false);
setpref(BOOL,"editor.use_css",false);
setpref(BOOL,"dom.disable_window_move_resize",true);
setpref(BOOL,"dom.allow_scripts_to_close_windows",false);
setpref(BOOL,"dom.disable_window_flip",true);
setpref(BOOL,"dom.disable_window_status_change",true);
setpref(BOOL,"browser.blink_allowed",false);
setpref(BOOL,"dom.event.contextmenu.enabled",false);
setpref(BOOL,"gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled",false);
setpref(BOOL,"dom.indexedDB.enabled",false);
setpref(INT,"dom.storage.default_quota",1000);
setpref(BOOL,"media.webm.enabled",false);
setpref(INT,"network.websocket.max-message-size",2000000);
setpref(INT,"offline-apps.quota.max",2000);

( ( The "Secure5-MedHigh.kmm" settings are: ) )
setpref(BOOL,"browser.frames.enabled",false);
setpref(BOOL,"dom.storage.enabled",false);

( ( The "Secure6-High.kmm" settings are: ) )
setpref(BOOL,"javascript.enabled",false);
setpref(BOOL,"dom.disable_image_src_set",true);

And there will always be more to come!

Also there are tips in security as in moving your flash files
like "NPSWF32_11_3_300_265.dll" etc. The "other browsers" flash part
(Do not move the IE part of the flash to another drive.)
Then going in to REGEDIT & looking up the flash for
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins" & pointing to the new local.
Then setting all of those files to Read-only, Hidden, Archive.
This all goes for the Java plug-in also!
