Adblock for K-M

Would anyone be interested in having Adblock integrated into K-M ?

Since I delved into Noscript, I found it's rather easy to "install" some extensions into K-M, albeit with somewhat limited functionality, (it's too bad K-M doesn't have an XUL statusbar, as the most useful extensions tend to use the statusbar).

I have Adblock Plus installed, and filtering ads now (whitelisting also works).

When I have the bugs worked out, I'll post the install instructions if anyone would be interested.

Well.....

After working on making Adblock work in K-M , I've found out there's going to be some major usability problems, that would make it too cumbersome for everyday use (adding filters on the fly is just one of the small problems), for some reason the filter list is not loaded properly sometimes, and under certain circumstances Adblock causes K-M to not exit completely on shutdown, the K-meleon.exe process has to be terminated manually.

I'd say it's much easier to use/maintain a PAC file then to use Adblock in K-M.
A PAC file has a lot of the same blocking features as Adblock.

If anyone still wants to try it I'll leave it to them to "hack" into K-M, it just causes too many problems, if you don't know what to look out for.

"Have you test my last noscript macros ?"

Not yet, have you taken into account that some pages will need to load off site javascripts in order for the page to function ?

No, cause I don't know about it, but make the test and report the problems and the sites concerned. You must know that I allow for the domain, not only for the page concerned, so it ought to be ok.

So what ever happened to this project. There are a thousands still waiting with baited breath at the results of even a crude adblock-type function added to K-Meleon.
