Thanks for the links. I will have a look at them.
drop.io did need no registration and no email, unlike
the other sites that I know. That made it so convenient.

Maybe you will find this one usefull.

http://ge.tt/

You can register (only if you want to) to create an account and:

- see live statistics
- add/remove files
- prevent files to be removed because of inactivity for three months (or you don't register - you can download files yourself once in a while so they stay active grinning smiley)

Seems interesting, thank you.

I will put there some of my older variations, and give
the addresses on the UKmeleon page.

Does someone know what Mozilla product might have the correct componet files to update the KM 1.7.0a code?

I have copied six files for the preferences system into 1.7.0 and they seem to work OK. I will need to test more.

I see the 1.7.0 version uses 1.9.2.5pre and I was trying to find the latest product which uses a compatible Gecko engine. The plan was to copy the matching componet files into 1.7.0. I tried by getting FF but all the files there are js instead of xpt.

Perhaps some version of Seamonkey might be correct?

James, using Fred's download of 1.7, using Gecko 1.9.2, how would you manually update the KM 1.6 beta to the new gecko?

If You want to try You'd first rename the an exe (or work with a spare copy of the Fred's download) copy it to the other GRE and click it to start. If it starts at all You'd also copy kplugins over and see whether they work. Later You also exchange Chrome and defaults folders, look what works and that is it.

But.

K-Meleon1.6beta.exe etc. is compiled using headers/libs of SDK 1.9.1.
K-Meleon1.7alpa.exe etc. is compiled using headers/libs of SDK 1.9.2.

While 1.7 seems to start with GRE 1.9.1 - You will AFAIK have no such luck with 1.6beta.exe and GRE 1.9.2.

I'm working on 1.7.0 Alfa2, next weekend could be released.
This will put 1.7.0 Alfa branch to 1.6.0 Beta2 branch level, but with Gecko 1.9.2 based on Firefox 3.6.13.

Guenter,

Yup, you're absolutely correct... simple replacement of exe with 1.9.2 exe doesn't work. I'll have to wait for Desga2's 1.7a2.

P.S. Having said that, KM 1.7a (Dorian) works, but crashes upon exit. Haven't checked it out very much yet.
