I don' try it but I hate all AVAST product since a lot of time ago.
Avira AntiVir is better than AVAST.

K-Meleon in Spanish

I've tried it and it's good, but I agree that Avira is better, uses less resources, and doesn't slow down your PC as much.

Same as you and desga ,but I wonder if the the resource usage has been improved (reduced). Avast was aware that it was a criticism of their products.

I've been reading the posts in their user forum and it seems to be that they are having new release troubles. I think I'll stick with 4.8 for now and wait for an upgrade or two before switching.
