wireless router security

I'm installing a wireless router for my Mother's laptop at home. I've enabled WPA2-Personal and disabled SSID broadcast. Does 'whitelisting' her MAC address make any difference with security?

If MAC filter is enabled, only whitelisted
MAC addresses are allowed.
