Dude...you are talking Shit....Xtravo Explorer has the best user friendly interface plus very fast than other browsers.

What are you talking about dude....Xtravo explorer is using .NEY 2.0 which is even better than .NET 1.0....everyone knows tht dude.

It is very stable than avant browser, aol, any other...

It is in competition to Firefox...dude.....Even they are making it more better and for your knid information...IE is the best browser ever and for a change then its Xtravo Explorer.

cometbird= firefox3 with preinstalled extensions (it's no faster than ff..all those claims are rubbish)

xtravo explorer is an ie shell(bad) built with .net(even worse)= absolute crap
unlike most ie shells; xtravo didn't make use of the original ie context menu which can be useful for some.. it's very very sluggish and the interface is unstable probably due to .net 2.0

i found a good link on comet's site for this video player: http://www.mpcstar.com/
it's similar to vlc.. comes with own codecs and doesn't need directx, has a nice simple interface like old wmp or mpc.. it seems stable, will have to test out it more (especially with qt formats like 3gp which vlc normally has issues with)

Well....you seem to be a nice guy, so i would say it is a Fact the IE is the best browser and then Xtravo Explorer.

Xtravo explorer has such stuff which browsers dont have to date, like Easy FTP uploader, Document explorer and Image Grabber..

These things are good along with that this browser is FAST...use it for once....

panzer, judging by their snapshots; both enigma and acer appear to be variants of the original donut browser.. which was one of the very early ie shells.
i actually still have and use it for reading saved pages because it has a folder pane which makes it very easy to browse through local folders

mpcstar wasn't able to properly render all qt formats including .mov and had issues with audio too..

though it does come with codecs, it's not like vlc in anyway.. where the latter uses own compiled codecs; mpcstar just uses the regular directshow codecs and containers but without the need to register them to the system.. just placing them in its codecs folder enables it to read them.. it should have been able to play qt formats because it comes with a quicktime alternative version but that didn't work as it should although it was able to play real formats with its real alternative.

it didn't have problems with vorbis, matroska and other regular formats. it can be very useful when testing out codecs before registering them and it might also be good with recent codecs that cannot be registered/supported on win9x.. but that still needs to be tested.

furthermore, the interface/skin had a small bug that causes button flickering when moving the player when a video is in play.

vlc videolan player is still the best non-directx player with mplayer a close second/

and when it comes to directx players.. i don't think there's a match for cinemaplayer http://www.cinemaplayer.net/

kmplayer is similar in concept to mpcstar, it uses directshow filters without the need of registering them. it was able to play some quicktime formats rather good but had issues with 3gp.. it seems to have a more recent quicktime alternative than the one supplied with mpcstar but i don't know why those players never seem 100% compatible with quicktime. vlc plays 3gp but without sound.
kmplayer seems more focused on audio formats than video..and you get a sense of that from the interface and features usually not that important for dedicated video players..like the graphic equaliser. it also supports winamp audio and visualisation plugins though did not test that. it works fairly fine with most formats and the only bug i noticed so far is a bit of jerkiness when skipping through videos.. especially mpeg4 avis like xvid etc.
it's a satisfactory player but not amazing. i guess it'd make a perfect player for music videos where you can manipulate the sound.

smplayer is a gui front for mplayer. it's not a bad interface and some features are more easily accessed than the default mplayer's gui. personally i prefer the much simpler mplayer gui, but this one makes it much easier for configuration.
i believe vlc is better for windows in general while mplayer shines more on linux.. but if you prefer mplayer in windows, then the smplayer is a must have because its interface has more functions and has better ease-of-use familiarity.

Green Browser http://www.freewarefiles.com/GreenBrowser_program_18902.html

Slim Browser http://www.freewarefiles.com/Slim-Browser_program_5700.html

I am requesting reviews of browsers because I am trying to determin if there is a gem of web browser out there we do not know about.

grinning smiley @panz, you don't have to promise.. it's actually fun testing out all those programs, but those will take a while so i'll give a quick feedback on tcl/tk which is actually somewhere on my pc.. this is a very raw browser with khtml engine(predecessor of apple's webkit) and uses tcl whatsit runtime which is very basic. it's a very simple browser(even simpler than offby1), doesn't support a lot of things like javascript or web2.0 or plugins ofcourse, however it's very good for quick testing and can be used as a basic accompanying browser to an html editor.

i'll look into the others especially doczilla.. name sounds interesting but hey you don't really have to look for a gem browser.. you're right here, just keep it hush hush tongue sticking out smiley

1.teega browser http://www.delamarepro.com/teega/publish.htm requires .net 2.0.. i can tell you right away it isn't worth the trouble

2.smart bro and runecap are ie shells from the donut school.. no point trying these, if you need a browser to read saved pages with a folder pane.. just get the original donut

3.lunascape site's dead

4.spacetime is a 3D browser.. stay clear from those ones, you'll never browse anything.. it's pointless, maybe a little fun at first but you'll get bored from them quickly and ofcourse 3d browsers adore your CPU.. if you'd like to test out 3d browsing go there: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2007/11/21/web-browsers-you-have-never-heard-of/
there're a couple of 3d ones..ubrowser is probably the best one of the bunch.

5. ultra borwser is a 'branding' browser.. that means companies go this compnay and tell them we want a customised browser with our logo and crap based on ie ofcourse.

so only doczilla left.. from their faqs, it's a document viewer integrated with mozilla based on the latest gecko 1.7 (obviously development has stopped there and site hasn't been updated in a while), i'd still give it a try because it offers something different.

see..that was easy and didn't take a lot of time tongue sticking out smiley

wikipedia doesn't care about listing ie shells.. because well, they are not 'real browsers' and secondly there are awful lot of them.. it's very hard to document them all.. every tom, dick and harry wannabe programmer has been through the ie shelling experience.. remember mr. mike hardy and ofcourse we have one of them posting in this thread smiling smiley
