S.C.O.U.R.G.E. is a cross platform, open source rogue-like game in the fine tradition of NetHack and Moria It sports a graphical front-end, similar to glHack or the Falcon's eye.The design of the 3D UI is an attempt at the best of both worlds from old to new: It lets you rotate the view, zoom in/out, view special effects, etc with the feeling of the old-school isometric games like Exult or Woodward.

very nice game, requires skill:

at first may seem very hard, but after some practise you'll master it.. don't kick while the ball is still in the air..wait till it falls on the ground, better to kick before it bounces back off, otherwise will fly right past the goalie.. kicking low is best to score but make sure not to hit the defense

Thanks, man. I haven't tried SCOURGE yet, but I sure will...
Tried SCOURGE in windows, didn't really like the result (mixed localization, altering of desktop theme, too few config options, and so on). The help one finds online seem to be all geared to Linux users, so I'll try that way... eventually.

glHack is a port of the game NetHack, using hardware acceleration via OpenGL(R) to render the 2D tile graphics. It uses LibSDL as the video and input library. There is good support for software rendering (without OpenGL) as well.
