Way to go, panzer! You found Make Your Own Browser right at its inception... The support forum for it has no registered users and only one seed post by topic.
For anyone wanting to join a community right at the very start, this is THE opportunity...
Falcon's Eye Nethack variant development stopped long ago. Vultures's Eye (and the Slash'em based Claw variant) picked up where Falcon's quit and introduced many needed updates.
As a fan, I can attest that although Vulture's own development has slowed greatly lately, it is still the best choice for either windows or linux (search the forums for ubuntu install recipe). More info:
One for U:
S.C.O.U.R.G.E. is a cross platform, open source rogue-like game in the fine tradition of NetHack and Moria It sports a graphical front-end, similar to glHack or the Falcon's eye.The design of the 3D UI is an attempt at the best of both worlds from old to new: It lets you rotate the view, zoom in/out, view special effects, etc with the feeling of the old-school isometric games like Exult or Woodward.

Among other things: Give it a URL and it will get whatever is there, into a file on your PC with the same name, but in the directory this program runs in

at first may seem very hard, but after some practise you'll master it.. don't kick while the ball is still in the air..wait till it falls on the ground, better to kick before it bounces back off, otherwise will fly right past the goalie.. kicking low is best to score but make sure not to hit the defense

Tried SCOURGE in windows, didn't really like the result (mixed localization, altering of desktop theme, too few config options, and so on). The help one finds online seem to be all geared to Linux users, so I'll try that way... eventually.
Transcendence (higly addictive, not yet complete, on first try I played it 5 hours)
One of the reviews:"Imagine if Nethack and Star Control 2 got together and had a top-down illegitimate child that went on to bigger and better things. That's Transcendence in a nutshell."

Naturely, if you have some good game title to share, just say so.

Pandora's Gearbox is a physics-based puzzle game in which players must work their way through darkness, finding paths and moving machinery. At your disposal is a small flying robot which can shine a light through the pitch-blackness, allowing you to see the surrounding walls. Using this source, a ball must be guided through a maze and into the drop zone.

glHack is a port of the game NetHack, using hardware acceleration via OpenGL(R) to render the 2D tile graphics. It uses LibSDL as the video and input library. There is good support for software rendering (without OpenGL) as well.
