As said in the title, teletype tagged strings aren't correctly displayed by all K-Meleon's versions ( 1.6.0b2 and 1.7.0a2) under Linux.

See for example on this page, step 2, step 3, ...

wouldn't be necessary to install a windows font ?

This seems to be a wine problem.
Older wine versions show the same problem in Firefox for Windows too.
Installing wine 1.3.12 solved the problem for me.
It depends on /lib/libc.so.6 linked to version GLIBC_2.9 or higher,
for example libc-2.11.1.so and its dependencies.
This would be included in Ubuntu Jaunty, Karmic, Lucid, Maverick and Natty,
but not in Hardy, in Debian Squeeze, but not in Lenny.
Updating libc can be tricky and brake the system.
May be that some older versions before wine 1.3.12 work also correctly,
which I cannot check in details.
A workaround for older versions would be to temporarily disallow
using website documents fonts in the preferences panel.

I always used a trunk version, and during the last install, I didn't took attention and used the normal install. So, no more update ...

I have another bug, I don't know if it's due to the same problem.
If I enter http://localhost, it doesn't work, it does nothing, and gives no error message.

If I replace it with http://127.0.0.1, it works.

If you can test it, with a server obviously ... (For example xampp)

I have tested xampp with an older wine and also
with wine-1.3.12, and the address http://localhost
works ok for me in both versions, as well as
http://127.0.0.1 .
Tested it in my KM 16 and 17 variations.
There must be some other thing in your system
that stops reaching http://localhost .

I have the problem with 1.6.0b2 with or without kmTor, and with a new profile
I have the problem with 1.7.0a2 without tor
I have rename my .wine folder and created a new one : same problem

I'm not blocked, as I have the other way to do it, but I don't understand why K-Meleon does nothing at all with this address...

You could try to see what Firefox for Windows with wine
does. If it does not find http://localhost either,
the fault would not be in K-Meleon.
