What _does_ that throbber image represent?

You know, the little image on the top right corner that animates when something is loading.
Is it supposed to be a Gecko's tongue undulating obscenely back and forth?
Is it some kind of tube with "information" passing through?
I have to say, sometimes when I look at it I can't help but visualize someone's lower intestine during a period of um...activity.
What does everyone else see?

Personally, I see an 'information pipeline' of sorts with data coming through. Maybe you've heard someone say "the information coming down the pipe" or something similiar. Just my 2¢

It looks like the throbber is borrowed from Galeon, at least comparing it with Galeon's screenshots, and that the slinky pipe thing makes a lot more sense in the context of Galeon's site.
Has anyone tried replacing the Throbber.avi file with a different animation?
