Downloading and Zone Identifiers

While this is not a problem in K-Meleon at the moment since it is using an earlier "trimmed" Seamonkey 1.1.6 gre, if and when it graduates to what is Firefox 3.5, there will be an interesting phenomenon when downloading files through the mozilla downloader in relation to Zone Identifiers. The file downloaded - be it an .exe or a .zip - will be treated as a security threat by Windows Explorer at installation.

The following seems to be a workaround. Create a value in about:config called browser.download.manager.alertOnEXEOpen and set it to false. This works for FF3.5 and Seamonkey 2.0b.

Now all we need is a new K-Meleon to try it on.
