I want to edit the list when I click Ctrl+H is it possible?
Also in History settings I have 9999999 days as the keep a list of all pages visited in the xxx number of days yet my History only goes back to May? What number do I use for the maximum number of days please?

Thread about this extension for more info.
But, please, not use History like bookmarks, use Bookmarks or Favorites.

Any answers to my query about having 9999999 days in history but it only goes back to May 2009? I wanted it an 'infinite' number of days if possible.
What is the best way to backup the history please?

Have you infinite free disk space to storage it?
Backup your profile, history is saved in history.dat file in your profile folder.
Save a copy of your K-Meleon profile folder or backup it in a zip file.
Please use Bookmarks or a log/proxy/firewall utility for your claim, I think taht you are wrong with the utilities/tools that you are using for your target.
You are removing a screw to hammering.

Is this enhanced history manager the ONLY bit of K-M software available? I'm looking for something which allows you fully delete the history entry by entry and not via subdomain or domain. But it appears this doesn't exist at the mo?

downloaded it and got this file kmhistman.7z
Sorry to ask the question - but what next? How do I install a .7z file? I've never heard of a .7z file?

It's a compressed file, download 7zip from
7-zip.org, or if you have Winrar, you can open the file with it also.
I suppose that there are sub-folders in your the 7z file, that will match with the ones in you KM folder.

Ok, I (finally!) extracted the 3 files and copied them to the macros and chrome folders in K-M 1.5.2. I then closed K-M and opened it and accessed the History Manager. However, on selecting a domain and then hitting the delete option nothing happens? I've closed K-M and tried again but still the same result?

what doesn't work:
open entry in window/tab
delete individual entry
what works:
internal search
copy entry url
delete all history
delete history entries for a domain
delete history entries for a subdomain
access from: view>history>history manager
Try this other options:
delete history entries for a domain
delete history entries for a subdomain
