Disabling auto-refresh

Been having some issues with a particular web site (www.marketwatch.com) that auto refreshes about every 30 seconds or so. If I am away from my computer and it goes into power save mode (screen saver on), after about an hour or so, my disk drive shows non-stop activity (HDD light on the front panel is constantly on and blinking very quickly). When I attempt to get out of power save mode, all my web pages are blank and it sometimes takes a shutdown to get it back on track. Is there any way to actually disable auto-refresh directly from k-meleon, or if not, does anyone have any suggestions?? Using version 1.1.4, Windows 98SE. Thanks in advance to all, k-meleon has been my only browser for over a year now, nothing but praise.

You can do this:

View -> Toolbars -> Privacy Bar, You can block JavaScript to disable auto-refresh. (Temporary solution)

@ JohnHell:

In this web page (www.marketwatch.com) don't use meta-refresh tag (HTML), instead they used javascript code to refresh web page.

Wouldn't it be possible, as for other privacy items, to manage white list or black list for JavaScript?

You can do it with NoScript Extension and his white list to JavaScript.

How about if it's not Javascript refresh? Is there any way to disable META refresh?
