I made this update for myself, and maybe someone could find it useful.
It works for me without problems on 1.1.5 and with 1.5beta

BACKUP YOUR PROFILE, /KMELEON FOLDER AND /KMELEON/COMPONENTS FOLDER BEFORE THE UPDATE
Simply extract it in the kmeleon root folder (let the program overwrite old files of course).

This update does not work correctly. It rendered my Kmeleon 1.15 browser unusable and I could not run the Kmeleon program at all. I found out why. It overwrited the compreg.dat and xpti.dat files with empty "zero-byte" editions of the compreg.dat & xpti.dat files in the \Program Files\K-meleon\components\ folder. These 0-byte compreg.dat and xpti.dat files should NOT be included in the Gre Update 1.8.1.15pre package. I had to delete the compreg.dat and xpti.dat files to correct the problem and then launched the K-meleon browser (which will create new compreg.dat & xpti.dat files) to make things work properly again.

please take note of this, gennargentu, and revise your Gre 1.8.1.15pre update.

in short, overwriting the compreg.dat and xpti.dat files with 0-byte null editions is not a good idea. better for these files to be deleted entirely and let K-meleon create new ones.

When desga2, JujuLand or some K-Meleon developer says the GRE update works ok on their computer, I'll try it. Otherwise, too many people say they have problems with the GRE update for me to chance downloading and installing it.

Sorry. I didnt specify WHICH update. I installed the later one, the 1.8.1.6pre.
No worries with possible 0 length .dat files in this file!

Thank you, really good job. I am enjoying it on my computer. The memory usage is only half as much as Firefox 3 and it is faster than Firefox.
