Remember that if you don't like used setup installer you can extracted all packed files with 7zip.

Little manual for futures updates:

- Go to official downloads NoScript web page and download last NoScript version xpi file (with right click "Save link as...").

- Rename xpi file extension to zip extension file and extract his files.

- This unpacked 3 subfolders with 3 files that must be copied (overwrited) over current installed files in K-Meleon:
\chrome\noscript.jar -> K-Meleon\chrome\noscript.jar
\components\noscriptService.js -> K-Meleon\components\noscriptService.js
\defaults\preferences\noscript.js -> K-Meleon\defaults\pref\noscript.js

- IMPORTANT: Delete all *.dat files in "K-Meleon\components\" subfolder;
K-Meleon\components\compreg.dat
K-Meleon\components\xpti.dat

Official NoScript extension at their site I've recently checked is now version 1.7.9.
Several changes between the 1.7.8 and 1.7.9 releases. I'll use the procedure desga2 mentioned to manually update the NoScript addon for Kmeleon to v1.79.

downloaded 1.7.8 noscript zip for k-meleon 1.5. When activate no script is checked mark, noscrip is disabled. When I uncheck activae noscript, it's actially activated. Is this a problem on my side?

Yes I downloaded from that link. The MD5 of .exe is 5049e18e5927d95178dacb27efacf81a

Anyway, I reverted back to a HDD image and everything's back to normal. Eccept for when I add page to whitelist I cannot view comments unless I disable NoScript and when I click OK button in options window nothing happens. I have to click the X top right conner to close.

Not by any means. Your extensions are the first successfull attempt to make KM work in a similar fashion to FF and SM. But even better, as providing executables to load up macros means KM can use plug and play modules that use a scripting language instead of XPI extensions; an inherently faster method than that chosen by SM and FF.

KMES 2.10 uses:

- nsi script for install and uninstall
- batch files (very small) for install and uninstall
- macros for uninstall, display info box

The system is now complete and debugged, and can handle K-Meleon versions 1.1.x, 1.5 and 1.6.

I'm just now making web page to present each extension with more info than with the previous vezsion (menus, hardcopies, known problems, ...)

These pages will be located on a french server (the webmaster gives me a little place).
You can have a look about what it will look like this on geckozone

The pages will be in english and french (perhaps in spanish as desga2 is ok to do it, and if the webmaster allows it)

This work (web pages) is longer than I thought first, and I'm a little busy for now. So, I'll be later to finish the job.

Which I used to download various skins and macros for KM 1.5 (as I have been slowly, ever so slowly making the move from KM 1.0.2 to KM 1.5, with hesitation because of changes in the macro language and my inability to properly implement or rather modify old macros into new macro language. SIGH.

Hi,
I have just updated K-Meleon to the latest version and newly installed/updated NoScript as per Desagas advices in previous posts. I am fairly new and certainly no expert. The extension has correctly updated to version 1.83 and the noscript logo is present in my browser, however, I have the following questions/queries-

1. In Firefox, noscript would ask approval for ANY unapproved site, while K_Meleon only asks for a few sites??

Any advices would be appreciated.

I tried updating manually too. Had less success than you. I reverted to the earlier version that Alain produced and I think I'm going to wait until he has an executable with a new version of NoScript. I like his executable extensions and his new install and uninstall routines.

I don't have enough knowledge to get WOT to work with K-Meleon, but would love to have a WOT extension for K-Meleon--or if anyone has clear instructions how to get the Firefox XPI to work, I will try it and report back here--Thanks all, Sami

why are you posting here, Sami? this is NOT the thread to do this if you are talking about the WOT addon instead of the NoScript addon. go elsewhere and start a new thread about the WOT addon and don't post anything non-related about the original thread here anymore.

seems like the newest versions of Noscript aren't compatible anymore with KM 1.1x and 1.5x. best to stick with the old versions of Noscript like 1.8x and earlier.
