@Tony - If it is the cache - she should ask Admin at work how he set the cache.
Probably best set Cache control to rereading a page every time she uses it. This and some other info about IE & FF cache at http://www.smccd.net/accounts/webready/cache.asp.

p.s. I know little about IE at yahoo (had to use a bad IE shell for yahoo mail in hospital for some weeks & that is all). At home: I use yahoo mail (classic and new) with K-Meleon on WinME (OS and browser are not officially supported by yahoo and I get nag screens - unless I fake other OS & browser ID ) and XP. One of the perks that comes with this alternative browser is this Forum were users started to help each other. Here I can get info to solve K-Meleon's not IE's problems.

I use K-Meleon as default browser since 0.7 or so. My IE stopped working to my liking after a provider bestowed the benefit of a secret update on me. I was very green about such things then & make update without asking was default setting. MS had not foreseen such problems and there was no regular, official way to return to my working pre update IE.

@ecoh - JavaScript is not needed for the older classic version of yahoo mail.

Chose classic (it creates less problems).

What joe meant - the greyed out item was in an older configuration menu. To switch JavaScript on and off all newer K-Meleons can use F7.

Beim K-Meleon Browser muß man dafür den unter Extras/Browserkennung/Firefox2
(engl. Tools/UserAgent/Firefox2) einstellen, dann wird es einem beim nächsten Loggin meist automatisch angeboten. Vorher allerdings nervt Yahoo u.U., dass Firefox2 veraltet ist.

Sonst, die Yahoo Classic Schaltfläche zum Wechsel zu New Mail nutzen.
Dass der Browser dabei über seine Identität lügt, ist hier auch Vorbedingung.

p.s. Es gibt eine K-Meleon Erweiterung genannt AutoSwitcher. Diese hat einige nützliche Voreinstellungen. Sie stellt zum Beispiel beim Besuch von Yahoo Mail die Browserkennung auf Firefox um. Sonst, man kann Seiten, die angeschmiert werden müssen um zu funzen, durch Mausklick in die Liste der Seiten hinzufügen, wo das nötig ist.

Switch on Java Script.

Clicking Yahoo Mail button "New" and not getting the text edit field signifies No Java Script.

I just checked it again.

I CAN compose messages in Yahoo Mail Classic in K-meleon, using the Firefox user agent string.

I'm not switching to the new Yahoo Mail user interface - too resource heavy for my old computers.
