go to password helper @ yahoo.com or local yahoo. You can find the local Indian version via Your Yahoo logging URL.

the problem of inability to open one's mailbox appears to be global . Why

can't it be remedied expeditiously ?

These problems seem to affect mostly one or more Indian mail server(s).
Some PPL seem find here by Google but there must be many more that have the problem.

No idea what any normal user can do to get Yahoo's attention.
This thread started in 2006!
Some PPL obviously forgot their data - but other posts can be only explained by a failure on a server. If You connect to that server by chance - yahoo makes


p.s. - I am a moderator in the K-Meleon forum - I can see the IP where PPL with the problem come from.

Why do they come here: we always had threads about Yahoo problems -the reason yahoo tries to bar K-Meleon from new mail

BTW. Yahoo is often eating my liver too.

At the momemnt yahoo bugs me that they want me to use new mail. I set it to classic - because then I do not have set my K-Meleon to spoof Firefox every time I go to yahoo. Now what does yahoo want: exclude K-Meleon (which is capable to use new mail) or sell new mail to PPL that use K-Meleon?

Before they bugged me for with the suggestion to go to German Yahoo.de from yahoo.com. I would have created an account with Yahoo.de if I wanted it there.
But I want American news and will not get the same items at yahoo.de.

I think it might make a difference as to which Yahoo mail that you signed up for. Just to check things out I just set up an account at Yahoo mail and was directed to Yahoo Mail Classic because I am using the default user agent. I think that if I had been using the user agent for SeaMonkey I could have used the their new mail service.

I did log out and back in to Yahoo Mail Classic without any trouble. I guess I will wait 24 hours and try again just to check it out. Also I wan to see how much spam shows up on my account.

@JamesD, Yes, allows SeaMonkey string. Yahoo bars You from new mail for using K-Meleon also for using older Windows. As soon as You go there with a browser that yahoo accepts the bug You & want You to sign for new mail.

IMHO their policy and ignorance is pathetic.

I've been trying to check my mail for two days and all I get is yahoo toolbar so I signed up for it to see if it would let me in and it doesn't do anything just stays on "toolbar" display HELP!!!!!!

K-Meleon Forum is the support forum for the k-meleon browser. We do not support yahoo toolbar and we cannot help with yahoo's many & periodic technical problems.

This thread tells k-meleon users what to do when Yahoo denies them the use of new mail service - since k-meleon (like all Gecko based browsers ) is capable of using yahoo new mail.

p.s. It sucks to be redirected to a page that tells me that my browser or OS is incompatible to yahoo new mail & that I must update to use yahoo new mail.
K-Meleon Browser and Windows ME OS can handle yahoo's new mail.
Thus that redirection is plain sabotage & this policy of yahoo is just sick.

But K-Meleon is a windows browser - and this is the K-Meleon support forum.
