I am typing this message while downloading this browser.
There seems to be mixed reviews so far, is it going to be any good?
I have tried a lot of browsers, most are crap, relying on explorer to be
present, defeating any chance of being a fast browser.
Does this work in the same way?
So far the fastest browser seems to be Opera v4.02, it burns
rubber in the face of explorer and navigator. Is only a few megabytes compared to the big bloat twosome, and handles downloads much better.
Kmeleon is faster, but keep in mind its at version 0.2.1 (not even version 1.0 yet) so a alot of the features you expect from the 7.0MB+ browsers will not be here, give it some time and this could compete very well with the bigger browsers. I like it, its fast, small and effiecient, now if it only handled Java, https, and had a mail client...but all in time.

Adding a mail client would sort of go against K-Meleon's principles. Like Galeon (whose motto is "The Web, only the Web"), K-Meleon should keep the creeping featurism to a minimum. Galeon handles e-mail by passing it on to whatever e-mail client is specified, in fact it doesn't even handle downloads - they're handled by the Gnome Transfer Manager.
