js file error

In search of a solution to my Download Accelerator problems I tried to open the prefs.js file. In line 1 character 0 I get the following error: "Microsoft JScript compilation error; invalid character." This happens even if I close k-meleon delete the file then restart K-Meleon, the new file gives the same error. Now what?

Close K-Meleon and try to edit prefs.js with Notepad. That shouldn't give you any errors.

Just realized it was opening in WordPad. Wordpad does not like JS files. oops!

BTW I found no solution to my DAP problem in the file.
