Pity there's really no way to realise that ...every browser like Opera , firefox , mozilla ..can do that ...even the browser based on IE ...like maxthon ...
the little handles on the left side of each component can be grabed (mouse over and press left mouse key) they are for dragging every component to where YOU want it.
(at least in the top area)
when You have all where You want?
fixing is done under view/toolbars/lock...
& it took me a year or so to find kow it works!
(someone in forum told me after i complained about silly bars)
These things always seem very easy--once you know how! I love my K-Meleon configuration now. It gives me the biggest north-south screen of any browser I've used. I have one full bar for Bookmarks on the Toolbar, and one for tabs. Everything else I have in the top bar as well as in the Windows (File, Edit...etc.) bar.
@Andrew: ("gern geschehen" = wellcome?)
You do our new browser - i try to do forum support ; o )
(jsnj should have kept mozilla "go" menus item - that would been easier
- because i would have known items better
- not nice if i use W-B and have no "go" with 0.9 ) to explain by heart ; o )
& i still know my old problems better - i only have a k-m since 0.5 or 0.6 ; o ))
@carson: rascal - that sounds like plagiarising ; o )) my layout, he he.
Yes: You are right - i tried to remind newer "forumers" that we older "forumers" were not born with knowing k-m & that there are only "stupid" answers.
i posted some quite embarassing "complaints" in the past & sometimes still do.
The layers bar is in an even worse place, believe it, or not!!!
It's at the top, ABOVE the address bar.
Can you believe that???
That's actually not a bad place for it at all. Opera has that by default(not that Opera should be copied exactly, because their setup can be quite cluttered). But if you enable the Options button on the Main Bar. (View-Toolbars-Customize), that'll give you a Compact Menu(ala the FF extension) whenever you right-click the button. That combined with the Bookmarks button(right-click for the list) and you can hide the Main Menu bar completely(View-Toolbars-Menu/Throbber) therefore allowing the entire top strip to be used for the layer bar. Also, for the many who now have 19" + sized monitors and don't have 30 layers open at a time, making use of the usually wasted space next to the main menu makes sense.
Actually there is a way to see the layers at the bottom of the window.
(1) Keep the settings exactly as you have them.
(2) In a standing position, place one hand on the left side of your monitor, and the other hand on your right.
(3) Very gently lift the monitor from the desk.
(4) Replace the monitor upside-down.
--Well, gee, guys, I was just trying to help.... :-)
(just another case of what we each like! -> or do not)
some people (opera ...) chose worse places! (not to You but to me....)
and we "k-m forumers" are at k-m and WE ALL will pick our personal favorite worst !.
; o ) that is why some are here - the most flexible browser & lets us hit the drum!
& = let all pick the worst but favorite.
