I put a plugins subfolder in the browser folder. If you then make a new profile the plugins are well detected.

At least they are with me.

Hope iot helps.

No, it doesn't help.

Copying this version : Shockwave Flash 11.7 r700 in plugins folder of K-Meleon 1.60b2 works

But it seems that the plugin must be located elsewhere with 1.74

Edit

The plugins folder must be located in the profile folder.
Now, it works

Edit 2
The best way under wine (Linux) is to put it under Kmroot folder, and to create a link of plugins, and then to put the link under the profile folder.

All the k-meleon profiles can then use plugins. There is just to add the link under the profile.

Perhaps possible under last Windows version ?

Before K-Meleon 74beta the flash plugin was not detected by K-Meleon in the plugins folders unless the flash plugin was already located in Windows Folder.

However the flash plugin crashed with K-Meleon 74Beta because of the plugin container.

Now with K-Mleeon 74 Beta2 the flash plugin does not crash in any of the three plugins folders.

The plugins folder can be located in three locations which are

1. The plugins folder can be located in the browser folder with K-Meleon 74
2. The plugins folder can be located in your profile with K-Meleon 1.6 and later.
3 The plugins can be located in browser root folder. Hovever with K-Meleon 74 plugins.load_appdir_plugins is set to true to enable the plugins folder.

plugins.load_appdir_plugins is a vriable I have used to enable the Windows Media Player Plugin in firefox can not detect it or use it unless the plugins folder is enabled in Firefox.

I have used plugins.load_appdir_plugins to allow the Free Download Manager Netscape Plugin to work with K-Meleon 74Beta. FDM will not work with K-Meleon 74 unless its plugin npfdm.dll is located in one of the plugins folders.

XP SP3 K-Meleon 74.

As Mala Okeh says. By default. The subfolder ./plugins in browser is recognized. That is the install location for plugins that must be usable for all users of the product.

Path: E:\.K-Meleon74beta2\browser\plugins\npvlc.dll

The subfolder plugins in the used ./profile is also recognized. That is the install location for plugins that must not be usable for all users of the product.

Path: E:\.K-Meleon74beta2\Profiles\mfjz5ffp.default\plugins\npvlc.dll

No idea how to influence the choice since I manually installed.

John beat me. grinning smiley Thx also for the indo about pref that enables the old location.

BTW. John while a plugin like flash in a general system wide is recognized the one in the browser's plugin folder is prefered. I wonder which of the possible plugin locations is prefered now.

In the next version of K-Me;eon 74 it would be a good idea to have plugins.load_appdir_plugins enabled by default.

So will not be confused by the plugins folder in the root folder doees not work.

The plugins folder in the root folder in Firefox is not enabled by default.
That is why is not enabled by default in K-Meleon 74.

Most cases to run the flash plugin and install the FLASH Player (version), for Mozilla Firefox and Netscape, and recommended: install version 12 (because all previous versions reported that the Museum has a serious breach in their versions) I used, kmeleon74 and ran perfectly the flash11 here ((NOTE: installed 12 today)

Probably avoids to create a FAQ by old users like alain and me. grinning smiley

Yes Jonatan. The old ones like 9 at K-Meleon extensions are for users of old OSes.

fyi, guenter:

flash player 7.x is the last one supported on Win95/NT4.
flash player 8.x/9.x are the last ones supported on Win98/ME.
flash player 10.0/10.1 are the last ones supported on Win2000 but v10.2 also works on Win2k. Version 10.3 requires at least WinXP SP2 but that version could run on Win2000 SP4 with Win2000 Kernel32 BM installed. flash player v11 and greater needs WinXP SP3 or newer to use but Win2k users can also try them with that unofficial Win2k Kernel32 BM installed.

I found the Japanses page but cannot read which package is the newest.

We here need German. There is only Japanese, English and Chinese. AFAI-See.

p.s. I have an old Win2000SP4 Laptop.
