Downloading it now to see what it is.

They are in the process of updating their code for the Gecko engine to 4.xx which is already taking months, but looking promising though...

What I do not like about it;
  • Company based developing process (no open source community)
  • Slow devoloping process,
    not clear how fast they are updating their browser when security risc is found
  • Not clear why they are devoloping Lunascape;
    how and with what are they making profit?

Download is taking a while, but I will inform you about my experiences later.

Ok, just installed Lunascape in dutch with all rendering engines it is supporting.

My experiences:
  • a lot of settings, also every rendering engine does have it's own settings
  • Very complete incl. rss engine etc...
  • Much slower then Opera-Next 11.50 I am using now, for all rendering engines. The Trident engine is the fastest on my pc?!!!!
  • When opening a lot of tabs, the browser is not responding for some time because of loading
  • Also with webkit I did not notice any rendering problems

For me Opera is much more my favorite then Lunascape. Faster, more responsive and to be honoust, I do not need three rendering engines; one which is stable and fast will do it for me.

TechJunk,

Thanks for the looksee.. I too tried out all the engines and found only WebKit worth the effort, although as you say, the Trident engine is fast.

Generally IF I want IE, I use IETab in KM. (unless I need to do windows update of course). Right click gives me FireFox 3.6.17... Opera, to my mind, is an acquired taste. I've never gotten used to it, so don't use it much.

Overall, I was interested in it out of curiosity... a 3 engine browser is a bit of a novelty that I could not resist! <g>

I do not like that more for KMeleon.

panzer,

Yes, it is a curiosity for my tastes... I have not put in place Desga2 and Disrupted's embedded Webkit and Trident engines, but that would probably be the way to go if I wanted to do that. I do use the right-click to open up IE, Maxthon, FF and QTweb. Don't care for Opera, so.....

tried it and webkit seems to be quicker than gecko. I did not try trident. It's also a memory hog, big file size. Hard to configure as something is always missing, getting used to K-meleon's flexibility. But seems to load images quickly.

with browsers using webkit, QTweb browser seems to be the lightest 2nd to iron
