And with the Visual C++ 2005 Express SP1 + Macro Assembler 8.0 + the older Windows Server 2003 R2 Platform SDK!

Dorian AFAIK used a VC function for Windows NT to create K-Meleon's transparency.
This was absolutely sufficient because Mozilla had dropped Win98/ME support starting with GRE 1.9.
Transparency is used if comctl6 is detected, but I let windows handle it.
For some reason, bmpmenu is different since I've written a function to load the images.

Wieso?
Was die ganze Sache sehr erleichtern würde.
http://www1.plala.or.jp/tete009/software/mozilla/firefox/release/firefox-24.3.0-2014013109.en-US.win32-tete009-sse2-pgo.exe
Runterladen, starten & löschen.
Anleitung hier: http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/BuildKMeleonDistribution

Which is the latest version of KernelEx? I have the 4.5.2 and find nothing newer. But I read somewhere the development of KEx is going on again...

When I try to start KM 74 (74.0Beta3up1) in 98SE&KEx/XP its instatanously finished with the error message »DLL-file MOZJS.DLL not found«. What is this mysterious JavaScript by Mozilla? Or what? Where should it be? It's not under all the KM-files. I don't believe it's a part of W-XP installation... In a FF-installation? Who has FF istalled when using KM?

KernelEx Wiki Current events
Latest developments are on MSFN Forum > Windows 9x Member Projects (Kext: DIY KernelEx extensions, KernelEx -- On building, debugging and related matters) and GitHub. These are still in the testing and experimentation phase. There isn't a new stable version. You have to be patient. Version 4.5.2 (14.11.2011) is the latest stable version.

:O I have nothing as this there. And the Windows search machine finds no one in any subdirectory. Have I perheapps a false source file downloaded? Its name is K-Meleon74.0Beta3up1.7zQuote

mozjs.dll is in the K-Meleon folder. Size almost 3 MB. Yes that should be Mozilla's powerfull JS engine which is part of Firefox also.
The component mozjs.dll does not use any kernel32.dll or other features that are not present on Win98. I consulted FileAlyzer2.

But the rest ist for me mostly only bahnhof¬_¬ just in the moment - VC10, GRE etc. Especially I don't see from it, if there is any chance KM74 shall sometime in future work on W98.

Today I'm actually intrigued that KM1.7alpha runs far better on win98 than I had remembered, and there seem to be some 1.7 bugfixes posted in the forum (mostly by realgy). And Dorian just posted today that he could fix the right-click menu bug in KM74 by removing one single line in the code, makes me wonder if that fix wouldn't possibly work in 1.7 too, and perhaps a few similar others too. Then on win98 we wouldn't be stuck with 1.6 but with 1.7, which is already a huge step forward.
Where can I download a complete KM74? That was the only one I found:sQuote

I think that is not a complete KM. It is only an update (1 of 2, I think) to beta 3.
