Firefox 2.0.0.20 was released.
https://developer.mozilla.org/devnews/index.php/2008/12/18/firefox-20020-now-available-for-download/

apparently, Mozilla found another security flaw in Firefox 2.0.0.19 on the Windows platform so they decided to fix it right away.

Release notes of FF 2.0.0.20 posted here:

There seems to have been forgotten a patch, when
FF2.0.0.19 was released.
Read here, at the bottom :

http://groups.google.com/group/mozilla.dev.planning/browse_thread/thread/e0ee7d492c2994c9?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=mike+beltzner+clerical+error&pli=1

Fortunately, Seamonkey 1.1.14 seems not to be concerned.
As K-Meleon is built on Seamonkey, and no fixed new version has
been announced yet for Seamonkey, this error seems not to
be relevant for my already updated variations.
Nevertheless, if there is already a Gecko 18120 available,
it might be used for the final K-Meleon 1.5.2 .

I guess that this "forgotten patch" (which is only missing
in Firefox for Windows, not for Linux),could even be on purpose,
to annoy Firefox users who are still using the old 1.8.1 series
with another needed update, to urge them to change to
Firefox 3.0.5, because the support for the old 1.8.1 Firefox
series has ended with this last update.

Fred,

Yup, conspiracy theories ain't that when it comes to the Young Turks at FF. I remember just before the split between FF and SM, that one of the bones of contentions was the way in which bug fixes were done. Don't recall the details right now, but as I recall, SM or rather Mozilla Suite developers used a 2 part regime to catch bugs before they released, the FF side didn't want the extra layer.

Personally, I will either wait for FF 3.1 or move to SM as my second browser. There are a few annoyances in FF 3 that I don't much care for, with the "Awesome Bar" at the top of the list.

When you say the final K-Meleon 1.5.2 dose that mean development of the actual browser will stop or is that just the final release in the 1.5 builds.

Casper,

Since KM is built upon SM, not FF, whenever the 1.8 line is done, KM too will move to Gecko 1.9. Others here, more technically inclined than I, should be able to give you a more comprehensive answer.

This is the Mozilla roadmap for gecko.

Dorian and kko know what is planed.
As long as updated GRE 1.8.x are available users can update.
I remember that Fed updated 0.9 while Dorian worked on 1.x

K-Meleon.exe 1.6 versions are for GRE 1.9 and used in tests and by Hao's CCF.

My guess: that means development does not stop.
