how to update fanboy's adblock subscriptions
Date: March 02, 2011 02:45AM
could you guys please tell me how to update the adblock's subscriptions both optimized element filters and adblock filters for fanboy in k-meleon.
i guess k-meleon is using the filters for fanboy as default. and where do i copy-paste those subscriptions??
Does k-meleon has a urlfilter.ini file as provided in the fanboy's page. i guess i have seen a optimized element filter file in the installation folder subdirectory..
i would appreciate any kind of help. waiting for your replies

thanks for replying but am not planning to use adblock plus. i meant only the fanboy adblock subscriptions css(adblock+optimized element filters).the very reason i switched to using k-meleon is because its fast and low on the resources. adblockplus indeed leaks in lot of memory.

Really? Did you make tests? Did you contact the author about that?

Download this file and update it in next folders:
In defaults to be copied in next new profiles;
\K-Meleon1.6_Beta2\defaults\profile\chrome\fanboy-adblocklist-elements-v3.css
And in your current profile, for example if you are using profiles in K-Meleon folder;
\K-Meleon1.6_Beta2\Profiles\!!!!!!!!.default\chrome\fanboy-adblocklist-elements-v3.css

@ anytime:- it does leak in a lot of memory. With ABP K-meleon consumes 35MB more than its usual in my tests with K-meleon. The same carries out with any other browser too but the usage may vary. You can google its issues with various browsers. U'll see :-) Chrome, firefox, opera
Its issue has been mentioned in K-meleon forums itself

Shouldn't the Application Data folder too be changed?
I mean
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\K-Meleon\o3pif8o6.default\chrome\fanboy-adblock-elements.css
as this doesn't seem to be updating at the same time?

This not remove blank spaces, for it I think that you need AdblobkPlus.

Yes it's, if you have your KM profile in your windows user folder.
