Problem with many sites

Hello, I installed K-Meleon because other browsers like Firefox and Opera run very slow on my computer, and since I did, im very satisfied by it's speed and ''light'' feeling it has. But one major flaw that kills me is that in many sites that i go Facebook, Justin.tv there are bugs. For example in Justin.tv there are buttons and images missing, in Facebook when I click on a picture of someone theres a huge gray layout appears and i have to scroll all the way down too see the picture, in general stuff dissapears. Im not a professional in this and i need help.

What version of KM are you using? If it's 1.5.4 then the rendering engine in that is quite old now. I remember I had problems with it not showing the video overlay buttons in Justin TV.

You can grab the latest 1.6.0a4 build from http://sourceforge.net/projects/kmeleon/files/k-meleon-dev/

Do NOT get the 1.7.0a vesion as that's not ready for prime time. 1.6.0 has solved all my issues with sites and it's very stable and FAST!

There are some usual workarounds for KM1.5.x, like trying user agent etc. Take a look in Help>FAQ, or around here in the forum, especially for facebook... But the engine really is getting a bit old now, and not all pages can be worked-around ;-)
The alpha versions still have some bugs, but if you wanna try, try the lastest version from desga:

You get more help and feedback in General. So I relocate the tread.

They are not K-Meleon but site bugs. Many sites intentionally or unintentionally bar GRE 1.8 based K-Meleon version due to sloppy standard compliance and faulty browser switches.

I did not did into depth on http: //de.justin.tv/ but it looks ok when You set browser's UserAgentString to Firefox 2.

Facebook problems are IMHO FAQs. Fixes are AFAIK available/posted already.

Opens fine for me with KM 1.6.0 and default user agent. Links all seem to work as well.

Because it's a total mess on css. I didn't go into deep, but that is what it looks like.

CJ, that works on that version, but, that, also frights me, as for example the site portal http://www.terra.es/ It has an xml error, but newer version of firefox or depending on the user agent, it show ok. Is that good for the internet, browsers that are supposed to be strict, passing huge bugs?

How do you install the alpha version? It doesn't come with an installer

I have to say I've notice a lot of sites now giving me the notice my browser doesn't support frames. I have 1.5.4 and more and more sites are giving me errors. I hope this isn't the end for K-Meleon 'cause it rocks!!!!

I notice even on YouTube (starting today) I'm getting error messages. I tried switching user agents but I still get them.

Can't wait for the update

Thanks

You have blocked frames yourself! Frames are not brandnew but a very ancient feature, even outdated today. By default they are allowed in KM, and there's no shortcut that could be triggered accidentally, so you must have set it yourself  Switch on again in Tools > Privacy
