I have noticed on a few (5+) occassions that upon a restart, both graceully or with Restart Plus, previously closed tabs are re-opened. Has others experienced this as well?

No Am not familiar with restarter.
Are you perhaps re-opening a previous session?
Is it perhaps set as homepage? (Check in Sessions > Options)
Or do you mean when you are intentionally opening a past session, that there are too many tabs? The sessions have a minor little bug, only remembers the state of when the last tab was *loaded*
the auto-saving sessions feature seems to store all windows & tabs present after opening OR RELOADING one window or tab for the last time before exiting.
That behaviour appears on exit+start as well as with the ReStarter.
So, the manual remedy for the issue is: reload just one tab before exit/restart.

It is good that the behaviour is confirmed. However, this is my first encounter with this way of restoring previous sessions. Actually this is restoring the "session before last." Firefox, Opera, and others restore the session just before last close, whether gracefully or after a crash.
SoerenB, will you further explain: "reload just one tab before exit/restart."
well ... hrrm ... want to see the present arrangement of T&Ws after the restart you planned for NOW - then WAIT,
click your reload button first, which will reload the page you are seeing right now***
only then restart or close the browser ...
which part was hard to understand in the first place? I really can't imagine ...
*** there are other ways to trigger reloading not mentioned here.
Cheers

it probably is quite easy to make the RestartPlus Extension open an empty local, say, "sessionRefresh.html" file before exiting.
I'm not so sure about closing it right after restart.
Together that would make a basic workaround.

Somehow I can't help feeling that there's still some basic misunderstanding... sounds like confusing the words "session" and "tabs"... "Sessions" means the sum of all currently open "tabs" and windows, incl. their last history (back button)...
The only minor problem is that the plugin doesn't realize it if after the last page load some tabs were "unloaded", because it freezes the current-tabs-list only at the moment when loading a tab... So to update that list before closing, just reload one of the tabs right before closing the browser... Hard to explain in more detail yes

it happens like this, when u opened 4 tab, close the last tab, leave the other 3 befor you close the brower.
when u restart it, and open the previous session, it will opern all the 4 tabs including the last one you have closed. i think it has been a bug for long time.

CloseTab is always sent, even at exit. There is no easy way to make a difference between both currently.

it seems that there is no solution at the moment
