Hi again, I downloaded and installed the agentswicherplus and now yahoo shows the images, anyway I'm going to check the coockies configuration. Thanks for your answer.

Ivxx and anyone else, I don't know about the New interface but the following minimal cookie settings work for Classic.

Hover over the "blank" preview image then right-click and select Image > View Image.

Note the first part of the url, the server where the image is delivered from, this could vary based on your location.

In my case attached images are now coming from "thumbp2.mail.vip.mud.yahoo.com"

Open up Tools > Privacy > Permissions > Cookies and paste all or part of that primary server url into the cookie permissions box and "allow for session".

In the case of my example I pasted in "mail.vip.mud.yahoo.com" to cover the most ground. I had to add this one recently to enable images for my US account. My cookie permissions now have four yahoo servers set for session only: ac4.yahoo.com , mail.vip.mud.yahoo.com , login.yahoo.com , mail.yahoo.com . If one uses Yahoo Mail Classic there is no need to always allow all cookies, you only need cookies enabled for the servers that apply to you.

I started out with windows live mail but they screwed up my e-mail address and
my password. I'am new to the internet and painstakingly was careful to do
things right. For several messages everthing worked alright, but then I
recieve a request to verify my e-mail address and or password that is unsat
and should not have happened. Since I could not understand how corect the
problem, I went to another source for my e-mail. Now I don't have compose
e-mail and attachment ability.

I assume You turned to Yahoo.

You need to enable JavaScript, accept images & cookies from Yahoo.

I assume You use another browser than we do and I do not know which browser.

Now this is a K-Meleon (that is a browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox) support forum and this thread is to help K-Meleon users with problems with Yahoo mail.

For K-Meleon You would use default settings except that You set it to pose as Firefox using menu: Tools -> UserAgent -> Firefox.

Try this user agent string:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:8.0a2) Gecko/20110911 Firefox/8.0a2

FWIW, I just checked my Yahoo email account. I was able to get in and composed a messsage which was sent to another of my email addresses. Yahoo did insist that I update from the classic interface to their new one and I allowed that, but it all worked well.

K-Meleon 1.6b2, XP PRO SP3.

For K-Meleon and some other browsers that are not recognized by Yahoo's browser switch it is needed that You imitate another browser with the same rendering and JavaScript engine. For K-Meleon You should spoof/mimicry Firefox 2.

1.) set browser User Agent String from default to Firefox, done in Submenu of Tools.

2.) You also have to allow Cookies and JavaScript to get Yahoo working.
K-Meleon toggles JavaScript with F7 make sure You have not used the key by accident. Confer settings via F2 -> Privacy & JavaScript respectively.

Try to use K-Meleon Twin+ from my signature.

Yahoo mail is fully functional there.

KM Twin+ is the portable browser. Just unpack it to your preferred location and run k-meleon.exe.
