I don't think so. I believe it will just by an ignored line if # is in front.

They are there to fit properly within the macro statement and for proper spacing within the menu items or prompts. For the options like [b]Lock 'Google' as default engine[/b] etc... You can change and customize them and then see how they look in the menu & prompts.
