We have been receiving some spamm attacks these days here at the forum. After studying it I've found that they were made by already registered K-Meleon user forums, so I guess that spamm bots have made it into the way of registering here.

First I've just deleted the spamm messages, but after a while I've noted that the same user came day after day to post their spamm links, so I've gone to the phorum admins control panel and cleaned up our users list so all users with 0 (zero) messages posted has been erased this evening.

There were about 850 forum users with 0 posts, and they're all out now. Good part is that probably the automatic bots will have to fight with the captcha again to been able to register, and this will probably need some time. Also, we got rid of confussing users with names as "admin helper", "master admin", etc. which are never used for good purposes. Also, on the good things part, there are now about 850 free names, for if anybody wanted an specific username which was in use at the time of registering, now it may be free. Also, our database is a bit lighter, which is always good.

Bad news is that probably there would be some legitimate people which was erased, people who never posted but liked to read this forum anyway and they registered (maybe to use their local time, or to been able to mark threads as readed). By the way, this forum doesn't push people to register for reading and not even for posting (but must be done through a captcha), so everything will still be available for them, even they can register again with their old name with no problems.

Curious thing is that currently there are exactly 1.000 K-Meleon phorum registered users.
