Have no real probs with hanging. Javascript is mostly blocked, and plugins mostly too, except for occasional videos. When sometimes a window is unresponsive, I switch to another window and right back again and the window is responsive again. There IS some prob with javascripts not being stoppable yet. Guess that's one of the bugs that need fixing yet before a stable version will be published. Thinking about it, there's a quite dim memory, but wasn't that 100% CPU thing related to some plugin?? UTF8 is running fine on KM1.5 already, that's not a KM1.6 thing. Besides, converting a file from ANSI to UTF8 sure isn't a prob for someone like you. Sure you can use double quotes in scripts, if you add a \ before them: \" Frankly, I find it hard to imagine that in former times scripts were working without that \ before doublequotes, but they definitely didn't run without it in KM1.5 either. Your suspicion that some scripts only run if called by menu may well be true, the newer gecko seems to have much stricter 'security' restrictions :-( For example cross-domain stuff seems to be blocked and haven't read a solution yet how that might be allowed. Regarding your macro lines, sorry no idea if this helps, but can't harm to try with the default commands from main.kmm: "$jscript" is there "$pref_JavaScript" "&JSToggle" is called "&pref_ToggleJavaScript" By the way, since your example script is only changing styles, there's a good chance it may even run without unblocking javascript (I'm talking the 'normal' JS block from the priv-menu here, not that deadly CAPS-blocking thing) Anyway, the real BIG probs I've run into myself often that's how newer gecko engines handles javascript. Have struggled an awful lot with longer injectJS codes in my macros, sometimes found workarounds and sometimes not, but am afraid there's not much to do about it from the developers side :-(
