Just my cup of tea, Find-As-You-Type and Unselect too. Added right away that command to my menu too, thanks for the tip :) Just not sure where to place it, for the moment added it in 2 menus, Edit and Link context. Could also go into the "Select" menu, then it appears below "select all". But it's never grayed out, hmm...

Hmm.... now that you mention that caret thing, a dim old memory comes up... there was something about navigation with cursor keys.... Yep! "caret" was the keyword, that brings up in "about:config" that pref:
[b]accessibility.browsewithcaret[/b]
It works, but can't remember if there was any catch with it, and don't have time at the moment to look more into it...
