though KM 1.6 beta behaves very nicely so far on the Vista computer.  no crashes on there.

could be a possible conflict between KM 1.6 beta and XP's [url=http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2264107]KB2264107 mrxdav.sys/ntdll.dll update[/url].  i'll try uninstalling this XP patch and see if K-meleon 1.6.0 beta doesn't crash at all.[/quote]
