slayer, I found out in mozilla/gecko based browsers like Firefox, Seamonkey and K-meleon that those following values [b][u]ARE RENDERED WORHTLESS[/u][/b], [b]unless[/b] you change the following in the about:config dialog box:

[b][i]network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy[/i][/b]
[b][i]network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server[/i][/b]

by default "network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy" is set to 8 and "network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server" is set to 6.

try setting both "persistent connection" values to "10" and see what happens.  now those two mentioned above will have REAL, ACTUAL effects on performance in loading web pages.
