GetSize, developed by Lexi, is available on the Network extensions page, with the description:

retrieves additional information about a file including size and html headers in use.
menu entry: link context > file information | image context > image information
versions supported: 1.1.x - 1.5.x

I like to use it for checking the size of large downloads but I also like to see the size of images and other things.

It consists of a macro along with a GetSize.exe and GetSize.ini.

The default getsize.ini looks like this:

I'm inclined to suggest the version on this site should be converted to English too, to match the already translated macro text. The screenshots above depict my translated version.

Rendez vous dans votre navigateur K-Meleon, dans le menu :

Edition / Configuration / Configuration du navigateur

Ensuite dans votre configuration modifiez la ligne suivante :

et donnez lui la valeure :

Man, my first macro and it took me half my life (nearly :P) The little one for just killing background-images has grown into a monster baby by now *blush* Yeah, yet another styles macro, I know there are already countless others out there with much better styles and I'm crazy, but I'm finally going to post that thing now - ufff!! ;-)

It's got a few gimmicks though :D Comes with a bunch of
- BUTTONS which can be selected by menu (in KM154 / until then only 0-1 button by macro)
- and/or normal buttons by toolbar.cfg, copy-paste per menu to help newbies
- same for ICONS in dropdown MENUS, copy-paste per menu again
- includes the SciTE-EDITOR which has great SYNTAX HIGHLIGHTING, makes it easier to catch typos and to read
- Help file, plain txt which that editor also highlights nicely :-) (plus little popup-helps)
- Menu to choose editor for changing the css-sheets or read cfg or help or kmm-files (choose e.g. windows default editor or user-set)
- Menu to quickly edit the handful stylesheets, plus 5 empty ones for users Test- and Customized styles
- Menu to delete/reset the user-set prefs in about:config, since they quickly add up if someone toggles many buttons or has two toolbars with each 4 positions

So what's that thing good for?

This extension can temporarily modify how web pages are displayed: You surf to a new page, then find it perhaps hard to read or whatever, then you can hit a style button and instantly the page looks different (other text color or size, REMOVED BACKGROUND-IMAGE or other color, highlight links etc.) If you like it better that way - great. If not, try another style (they add up), or hit reload to get the original style back.

Note: No javascript needed, and those style buttons work only for the currently displayed page. They don't prevent anything from getting downloaded, meaning they can't save you bandwidth, sorry. After a page is fully loaded, do what you want with the style, but as soon as you RELOAD the page or go to another one, everything will be back to normal.

PS Windows98: The macro works fine, and the editor too if started from outside the browser, but to get the editor-buttons per menu to work too, set the scite.exe properties on Millenium- or NT-compatible with Kernel-Ex (see help).

Style to INDICATE INVISIBLE PICS:
If you wonder what someone in a forum is talking about, somehow you get a suspicion he may have posted an image, but there's absolutely nothing there, not even a broken-image-icon or anything: Hit the image-border-button, it *may* well be that out of nowhere some empty borders appear, and if only a tiny little rectangle! (=age old bug in mozilla browsers for unsized images, hopefully fixed soon - Oops, forgot, it's not a bug it's a feature! ;-) (note: those borders don't seem to show for adblocked images, and alas sometimes "overlook" a few others too)
The borders are set to appear only if an image has no size-tag, because the sized ones have icons if missing. By the way, red-blue borders mean there's a link behind the image, and red-yellow means no links.

If you come across a page where links aren't underlined and almost hidden somewhere in the other text: When you're done reading, hit the links-highlight-button for a quick check:
(Not that links were that hard in this forum, so a bad example, LOL!)

Other examples: Some webpage may have a pretty photo background, but alas the thin text on it is difficult to decipher: Enjoy the photo, then hit the style-button to remove the background image and you can easily read the text. Or you may prefer to merely set the whole text in bold letters instead. Or you may come across a page where you just hate the pink background color: Just exchange it with your favorite color. (Again, bad example pic, but you get the idea ;-)

Style for big fonts and other colors: Perhaps you're someone struggling with bad eye sight, then you can take a look at the original page, in order not to miss anything, then eclipse the background image and set all fonts to big bold black Verdana on nice beige ground or whatever:

Unzip it into the "k-meleon"-folder!

Contains the kmm-macro, a folder KM/styles with a bunch of css-sheets, a folder "editor_scite" which lands in KM/tools, and buttons-pics and help files are in KM/skins/default. All linked in the menus.
The menu "Stylebuttons" shows up in "View", in "Page context", and (if set) on all its toolbar-buttons on right-click.
Attention, the single button (for only opening the menu) needs a bit a longer click, or a right-click, to avoid that bug with outdated checkmarks currently.

new command 'live stylesheets' added. uses aardvark(ff addon) js..it's much more than just analysing css but seems appropriate to be within that macro instead of a new one for just one command.

With [viewer.zoho.com] you can view documents (.pdf, .doc, .docx, .rtf, .odt, .sxw), spreadsheets (.xls, .xlsx, .csv, .ods, .sxc) and presentations (.ppt, .pptx, .pps, .odp, .sxi) online without leaving your browser. Right click link and select "Open in Zoho Viewer".
It's a nice alternative to google docs ;-).

#1) How should I uninstall an extension?

#2) How should I install/uninstall an extension for only one user, not global? (i.e. if X installs an extension then it should not be available to Y)

TinEye is a reverse image search engine that allows you to search for an image to find out where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or to find higher resolution versions.

Access: right click image and select "Search Image on TinEye".

Here you can find out how it works and decide whether install the macro or not.

It is a question not absolutely of expansion, but it is important for K-Meleon users. Studying an source code of expansion Cache Fixer for Firefox, I have found an interesting key which is added in about:config. It is necessary to create a logic key browser.cache.disk.cache_fixer_debug with value true. Now the browser cache will be reliably protected from nulling at emergency end of work of the computer.
For example, if the electricity is suddenly disconnected, usually the browser cache is nulled at the subsequent restart of a browser. However if after computer reboot to open a cache folder manually (but not to start the K-Meleon) it is possible to see that the cache remains in safety. The cache is nulled only at K-Meleon start. The key specified above prevents cache nulling. I wish to notice that in Russian build K-Meleon Pro the given key by default is used within several months. Negative results when on some computers the cache is nulled despite presence of the specified key are observed. The given situation demands detailed consideration and studying of options of a browser in aggregate.

Hi! I need your help. If you know, there is a plugin for IE and FF called Cleeki. I want to make ported version for K-Meleon. For understanding what I want to do see that link: [www.cleeki.com].
Algorithm may be like that:
1.Set selected text (or URl of selected image) in clipboard automatically:
2.Simultaneously with it open special context menu with some buttons:
3.On mouse click (pressing the button) paste clipboard in some URL like it parameter:
4.Open pop-up window in the centre of monitor with result (some URL).
P.S.: For better explanation of my plans see more about Cleeki. I want to do it analog. By the way: is it real to make buttons in context menu? I mean some small icons instead of text point of the menu.

I set global policy to disable js and my trusted sites to enable js, however whenever I restart KM the global policy reverts to js enabled and I have to change it again each time - is this normal ?

Another online link scan. It's a nice addition to SiteAdvisor & co.
This online tool allows you to scan for any suspicious link that might lead you to harmful threats which can attack your computer. This service is using database from PhisTank, AVG, SiteTruth and Google Safe Browsing (as usually ;-) when scanning with macro JS isn't needed).

Access via:
1. Link context > Online Link Scan
2. Page context > Online Link Scan
3. Tools > Privacy > Online Link Scan

Get the original URL of tiny one; handy if you want protect yourself from malicious links.

Access: Right click on tiny URL > Untiny (link context). E.g. right click on this URL [tiny.pl] and select > Untiny to extract it (format of the result is XML).

Untiny supports over 200 tiny services and macro doesn't need JS enabled unlike visiting untiny.com. Ideally, the original URL should display when hovering over link, but I don't know if it is possible with a macro... and ff add-on doesn't offer such feature either.

Hello, in Macro extension options there is "reload" (allows to continuously reload pages). Does it mean- if I uncheck this- that no tab will reload without hitting F5? Or what does this "reload" stands for?

And second question- it is a chance to allow Java Script only for one tab?

Put together: If I have f. e. 6 tabs open and one of these needs JS and I allow it- with uncheck "reload" in Macro ex.- and I reload a page= I have JS allowed only for this concrete tab or it is still allowed for all opened tabs?

african and minorities
to keep the translation menu as compact as possible with the new additions; the keyboard accelerators have been removed for that menu

download and save in macros folder, replace original 'translate.kmm'

Dear reader, i tell u what i wish to have in k-meleon.

first u must know about my system and software.
I use k-meleon on a old notebook with 166Mhz without MMX and 64Mb ram.
I use k-meleon on win me

I know k-meleon support not really plugins of firefox and co. but i have see other browser company they have realtime antivirus scanner for websides and downloads.

this is what i wish for a secure browseing with k-meleon.

i have running only a pc scanner on this. this programm work at this time over 24 hours and more and have no real time scanner onboard.

not many up to date anti virus scanner are for win me. and when they have no realtime scaner onboard.

many antivirus software include only IE6 and or need activex.

please make a anti virus plugin or tell the hole world how to use freeware antivirus software with k-meleon

P.S. on many websides my browser say sripte stopping or no.

i think that ist flash or java but for win me are no up to date java and flash to download. how can i kill this error

wollte mit Greasemeleon ein Script ausführen, welches mit Greasemonkey bestens funktioniert, aber mit Greasemeleon leider nicht.
Der Entwickler hat das mal getestet und folgende Probleme festgestellt

Hello, the links in browser are unclickable (for me) when build- in mouse gestures are enabled. I´ve found link for- as I understand- improved mouse gestures by Ulf Erikson but the link on [kmeleon.sourceforge.net] is broken.

Does anyone has an advise how to make links clickable with MG enabled?
