Welcome everyone!

My problem is not as far as a bug, but it needs a neccecary inprovement, mostly because of usage of k-meleon application in polish-languaged versions.

There is implemented shortcut Alt+S, which is connected with sessions. But, in polish TI systems this shortcut means mark "ś". For me, and other polish users are unable to type a phrase in google, such as "święconka".

Is there a sollution to change this shortcut? Is it possible to change this shorcut in next versions of k-meleon?

Thank you,

This may have been mentioned before. One of the best things about Opera is the simplicity in turning different settings on or off for a single webpage. You can disable Javascript or even turn of redirection without affecting every website. I have come across numerous websites that have ads that somehow use javascript to take you where you don't want to go. Simply by disabling it, the problem is solved. But who wants to use global able and disable? That's a pretty piss poor design.

Possibly there is an extension for this. But I have only seen a "policiies" extension and it's not very convenient. Forget what Firefox does. As far as privacy goes, Opera is the one to beat.

Wednesday 11.07.2012

I came across this K-Meleon browser, it downloaded very fast indeed, it also got any link again very fast, including me registering and K-Meleon accepted it straight away, as I didn't have to go to my Inbox to wait for a verification email to click the link.

I've had Google Chrome, IE, IE8, Lunascape, Opera and many others, none are any good at all. Google Chrome frequently crashes, hangs and freezes and they've a very annoying pop up, their "Kill pages" and "Wait" buttons, which pop up over anything I'm doing totally spoling my Internet experience and it is frequently "Not responding," again this too spolis my Internt. I've read many online complaints about all the above browsers and the others I've had.

If K-Meleon stays working as super fast as I've found it, and I've only used it for 15 minutes, I'll say it's the BEST BROWSER AROUND, as so far it is. It loads webpages so fast it's a pleasure to have it, the loading gauge, in the bottom right of the window is empty but fills in 3-4 seconds. Keep up the excellent work K-Meleon and I shall recommend it to anyone I know.

Hello,

What would be very nice (although quite basic), is to be able to highlight a hyperlink in a page, right click and simply copy it as plain text rather then a link. The only way currently that it seems this can be done is using CTRL + C on the keyboard. That works, but sometimes you just want to be working with the mouse and don't want to be using the keyboard. Most browsers have the simple 'copy' option in their context menues for hyperlinks, hotlinks, urls etc,it would be very handy if it could be added to K-Meleon.

Thanks and Appreciation,

It does not have to look the same, but I would like your pop down menu of bookmarks to have the same item/folder/hierarchy as what I was using before (which was a lot).

BTW, kudos. This thing is fast and uses about 1/5 the memory as Chrome on my 512MB older XP system. I dont see my HD lite on all the time thrashing to keep up with the bloated memory demands of Chrome now (knock on wood).

Protection and reliability above all else. Nowadays, information plays a significant role in my life. In connection with this very appropriate introduction would be implementing the protocol SCTP (Stream Control Transmission Protocol - «transfer protocol with flow control"), a new version. This will provide protection against SYN-flood attacks, the establishment of a safe connection (using a four-handshake), as well as pleasant innovation in the form of the conservation message boundaries, multi-threading, unordered delivery, support for multiple interfaces. Implementation of this protocol allows the network to bring a new level of speed, reliability, security and data transmission capabilities over the network. Because the new protocol was created, taking into account shortcomings of TCP, in view of the network and make full use of their opportunities, and special attention was paid to safety and security.

It is high time to promote, SCTP everywhere! Given the current active movement towards IPv6. + A lot of goodies from this extract is another good protocol SPDY. You can not hinder the development of technologies and the need to push modern protocols to the masses. It remains to convince Microsoft's usefulness and necessity of these protocols and to persuade them to intensive implementation. By the way Firefox is already implementing a protocol support SPDY (expected in version 11), as well as support going into the popular web-server nginx.

Sorry for this post as I understand there isn't too many developers among us but as this thread exist I'll write here.

What I miss in KM? Numerous things but 2 of them are really invaluable.

1) Ability not only save sessions but save them to file on the disk/. I know they are saved into prefs.js and can be taken from there but it's not easy for me and all the more so for less geeky user.

When working on many PCs (at home, at work, on the move etc.) and moreover while trying different builds of KM with unsynchronized profiles (so you cannot just take prefs.js and go) it would be very useful to have possibility to quickly save session on the flash disk and load it elsewhere on different version of KM.
2) Such thing as bookmarklets won't work properly in KM. You can add it (without drag-n-drop - no matter!) to Personal
Toolbar but most of them don't act as they have to.

It would be great improvement to have KM handling js-bookmarks if it's possible.

Upd.: I found javascriptia extension but using it isn't convenient enough. And may I ask KMext list maintainer to update javascriptia file to v2.

3) Is it possible to remember scroll position on every page with session? Looks like KM has such functionality but I cannot find it.

4) Not the first need request but rather "bugreport".
As it seems to be limitation of used Gecko, it need patch fix like Facebook and Youtube fixes for KM 1.5.x.
KM (even 1.7) fails to render http://www.browserscope.org/ properly (there isn't "Go" button to the right from the dropdown list of browsers to choose).
Not important but it looks like KM falling out of modern browsers group :-(

Hi all,first of all,I would like to apolagise,since,as a new member,I basically
posted this message,in the 'General' section .

....And,I did gain some valuable feed-back.Non the less, the issue does require the attention of this section,as,Im quite sure there are *many* more users out there of K-Meleon,using older winn.98 se machines(laptop in my case)...Who are un-aware of this issue(if they never visit you-tube,or watch MSNBC new clips online, use Skype...etcetera....Yeah,I know,I never thought it was possable either ;) ).

....Are there *any**other users out there who cannot enjoy you tube,or streming media?Did you comeup w/q workaround,or just avoid you tube and google vid's,or movies.

**************** The Request of this post ; *************************************
>Create a patch for those running using win 98se,A patch that will allow the user to up-date their currant Flash to newer versions,so that YouTube / Google Video /Mega Video can be watched & enjoyed .

>Or a work-around,where I can click a box,and manually select a you tube player(like VLC) - *only** the video would be handled by the stand-alone player.

*********************************************************************************
- = Computer Specification's = -

ibmthink pad
o/s win.98 se / 32 bit
memory; 128MB
H.D 9 gig
400-MHz Celeron

> Version number of K-Meleon 1.5.4,is my currant browser.

>I did install "Auto-Patcher for Windows 98se",and this hack/update pkg created back in 07 -
it resolved a similar issue, whare a user couldent watch media on youtube,or it was simply way to choppy to enjoy.
..a version of "KernelEx" is inc. with the installer.

******************************************************************************************

> I have installed the latest verion of Kernel Ex,
I have also,as one user pointedout,installed the flash-plugin,

>I have since tried both, Flash-Plug-in's,but Im not absolutly sure
if I have installed properly(?)

>I installed the plug-in's for Flash in these method(s)
...I opened the instal folder of K-Meleon,in the directory, ther are two folders,
KPLUGINS, / PLUGING, /
So,to cover all the basis,I put a copy of the "Flash Player 9.0.289.0 (9x) plugins " into each folder.

There was also a 'MODULES' folder in the directory, but I did not put acopy of this file into it,but uh,I was thinking about trying it,just to see.

*********************************************************************
Does anybody notice similar issues with K-Meleom when visiting sites like 'youtube','google video','mega-video',etcetera?

I must say, that, other than that,K-Meleon *IS* the best web-browser that runs the smoothest of evey web browser that I installed on this win.98se laptop;)

..Allot of people might say,its time to up-grade,ect ect...To them I would say,its a bit arder to justify a new computer purchase, since I have been married only just over a year, and we allready have another mouth to feed;).....
And,since Im not a gamer, well,I souldent say that,I really enjoy the classic arcade or old nintendo 2 d side scroll stuff, but can you believe that this old laptop is still usefull tomy wife & I,bud jeting,email,researching,etcetera...

Finally(sorry for te LONGGGGG post;)......

Can I first just say, K-Meleon is MARVELLOUS. WELL DONE and THANK YOU to all those who wrote this code. It is slim, fast and capable - something I cannot find in any other browser. I had settled for FireFox as my standard choice, and lovely it is, but getting fat around the waist. K-Meleon is as slim as a supermodel (loads in one second on my middle-aged PC).

SMALL REQUEST for functional fix - re Google Gadgets:

Using Google Gadgets in iGoogle, specifically the RSS Reader gadget called "RSS Reader+", I find that K-Meleon shows the gadget panels "unexpanded" - whatever you do - and so only show 1.5 lines of a perhaps 10- or 12-line RSS headlines list.

Firefox 7 renders the same page correctly.

Thanks a lot all
Of course, Firefox doesn't have a release plan even with Opera.
iPhone？Android?
All their browser is Chromium base, too.
I hate Chromium base browser, safari, GoogleChrome, and about to become so even in Firefox.
the transplant work to a different platform is difficult for me.
If K-Meleon for WindowsPhone appears, I think that K-Meleon for WindowsPhone7 become the topic of people.
Because, there is only Internet Explorer in a rival.
I hope that K-Meleon for WindowsPhone7 is developed.
