I have experienced a problem with K-meleon v 0.6 and 0.7 when I access a java applet
I start kmeleon, go to and load the java book viewer (
when I close k-meleon the process is not properly killed and cannot start it again. I look in the task manager for the k-meleon.exe and manually kill it and start it again and it works, but I guess there is some memory leak. No further tests have been done

I've got a similar problem with loading some flash applets - when you try to open a few *.swf files consecutively, k-meleon starts acting weird (no refresh for the window, apart the animation). When you close k-meleon it's still somewhere in the memory and you have to kill the kmeleon and loader processes - then restart, and everything goes great.
Looks like memory management doesn't set it free after opening a new document in an existing window / layer.

This is possibly JVM version specific.

Filling of memeory by viewing applets untill system stop.
I have always attributed this to memory management of Win ME (OS).

It can be observed for java e. g. 1.3.1
and 1.3.1_2 version under Win ME.
Gecko affected: Seamonkey 1.8.b4
and K-MeleonSM1.0b4 with GRE,
k-m 0.9_1.7.12, k-m 0.8.2+.

E.g. with JVM 1.3.1_2 on k-m 0.9_1.7.12 the java icon does not not disappear when browser is quit after viewing many applets. This indicates that browser is still working - You cannot start a k-m again untill it is killed. This can be only observed with this specific Java version.

If it also affects Seamonkey, looks like a Gecko or Java bug. Is that what you're saying, guenter?

According to guenter, this is not likely to be a K-Meleon bug. Since this report is pretty old, it may have poor relevance in regard to current K-Meleon/Gecko/Java/Windows versions.
