"Downloaded files sometimes disappear from the directory they were saved to, sometime after closing the download dialog and verifying that they actually are there."

I have no idea who submitted this, and cannot reproduce it. I will leave it open in case any one else can confirm it.

I confirm. Up to this morning, I had sometimes a "save" problem : on a page, I try to save it on my local disk, browse to a directory and file, go ... and the file is not there.
It didn't save.
I'm not sure if this problem was permanent or only from time to time.
This afternoon, I downloaded the two dll files (for the problem "don't change display for visited links"). Now I don't have this problem, maybe it's related?

Ok, marking it as open, any more information would be usefull since i cannot reproduce it.

I'm using Win98, K-Meleon 0.6 (547), french version. I go on page , then try to save using any method (right-clic ...); the "save as" window opens, I select a directory and type in a file name (or keep the default values), press the "save" button; the window disappear, which I consider normal considering the file is small and should save very fast; but when checking with the Explorer, the files aren't there.

i have the 'visited link' files that konan mentioned installed, and i still have the problem. it's elusive, and sporadic... the weird part is that the files _do_ download, and are created, but then vanish at some point - possibly when the browser is closed (maybe it thinks it's cleaning up after itself?). if i've actually opened the files at least once prior to them disapearring, there will still be a shortcut to them in the 'documents' folder on the start menu... that's how i know i'm not hallucinating.

aha, it may have something to do with some code Jeff has to clean up temp. files on exit. I'll reassign this to him.

I haven't seen this in any of the latest beta builds. I'm marking this fixed as of beta build 681. Please file a new bug if you see this behavior.

I just noticed this behavior and I'm surprised more users haven't. It's still present in the new 0.8 betas. The way I can reproduce it consistantly is by downloading a file(such as any of the 0.8 betas which is how I discovered this) after the download is complete and the download dialogue stays open, choosing ID_APP_EXIT to close the browser deletes the downloaded file. If the download dialogue & the browser are closed separately, the file is not deleted.

I can't reproduce this with K-Meleon 0.8 build 834, downloaded files don't disappear for me regardless of how I exit the browser.

This only happens if the code in UnknownContentTypeHandler.cpp is invoked (i.e. clicking on a zip file to download it). This problem doesn't occur if save link as is used.

Do you still see this in later builds?
