It works with 1.6b2 and 1.6 from Fred. It fails with 1.7a
1.6* are using 1.9.1.*
1.7 is using 1.9.2.*
That's the only difference.
Under Linux, I have found no other trick then a shell to avoid it with 1.7.
As I know, K-Meleon 1.7.0 only exists in 7z archiv form, not in setup form, so you can't have tried with shortcut created with setup (except you can have build one setup.
My problems where under XP, now at work, I'm under w7, and it seems there is no more problem. If I create it by Create a shortcut (right-click on the desktop and creating a shortcut or by putting it from the folder with alt-mouse), the start folder is set to the K-Meleon path, and it obviously works.
I don't know, but I presume it works under Vista.
A+
